I was always put off making videos in source, this sounds much better!
aww it isn't a built in recorder
At least you can sign in to multiple accounts
though unlinking one may delete the videos from another

no
no it doesn't
best thing ever
So what exactly is this? Form what I've gathered from the thread it's not an ingame recorder and it involves linking your YouTube account so what's the point? I would just appreciate if someone would explain this.

Google's entered Steam! I thought it was safer here! :tinfoil:

How do I access the pairing videos thing again? I've lost it and can't find it again.
I can't link my Youtube Account to my Steam Account :saddowns:
This is awesome, I hope they add a music player of sorts in the future to complete the media circle.
No public videos were found on your YouTube account. In order to link your YouTube and Steam accounts, you must have at least 1 video on your YouTube account set to Public visibility. It may take some time after uploading or setting a video to Public before it will show up in YouTube's search results. You may need to try again later.
Yea, I have a strong feeling that I don't have 20,000 friends on youtube.
But then again you can just use vidoes for that, sort of. The next best thing I suppose.

On the first step, put in your steam login name, then sign into youtube, allow access, and boom.

ahh ok, thanks
First Google took over my web searches, then my web browser, then my email, then my maps, my videos, my translating, and now even my news.
Now Steam?!
Should I be scared?

I put in my YouTube name and that worked.
[editline]6th May 2011[/editline]
No seriously, how do I link another account, or add YouTube videos?
I can't find it! :argh:
[editline]6th May 2011[/editline]
I just get sent here:
http://steamcommunity.com/id/smashman2004/videos/
Which says "This user has not yet added any YouTube videos to their profile."
I'm getting that too, Smashman.

Steam went to google and said "WE WANT VIDEOS IN OUR PROGRAMME! GIVE US YOUTUBE, WE WILL MAKE YOU GODS BEYOND GODS"
And so it was.
Here's hoping for an in-game recorder similar to the in-game screenshot feature.
I'm getting that too, Smashman.
So we're meant to be able to edit stuff there, or am I looking in the wrong place?
Here's hoping for an in-game recorder similar to the in-game screenshot feature.
Yeah, the ingame screenshots tool is already extremely useful, adding an ingame video recorder would be incredibly great. The only problem would be figuring out what format the videos are in, what size they are, if their data is restricted in the same way as the screenshots, and if they'd share storage space with the screenshots.

Use it in your web browser instead of your Steam browser

I did.
Once again no dice.
Here's hoping for an in-game recorder similar to the in-game screenshot feature.
Well Gabe did say that a video recorder was the next logical step after screenshots so.
Google sucks.
Everytime I keep trying to link my accounts it keeps saying this
The username entered does not appear to match the account accessed.
Still awaiting an explanation. So it just links it to your Steam account and tells YouTube "this guy made it about this game" and also lets your friends watch it from your Steam profile?
