However, we do want to thank our loyal members and give you the opportunity to lock in your current price with an additional discount, so now would be a good time to renew your subscription."
Analyst Jesse Divinich of EEDAR believes this price increase will not have a major effect of Microsoft's momentum or subscription base, saying that, "EEDAR believes the fee increase will do little to impact the positive momentum of the Xbox 360," and that given the service improvements through the year, "it comes as no surprise that Microsoft would eventually increase the price of a Gold subscription by a moderate amount."

The biggest downside with PSN+ is, in my opinion, that you are not allowed to play the games when your subsription is over.
if you buy from the dashboard they usually have amazing deals. I once got a year for 10 dollars.
If it weren't for Halo and having so many friends who play xbox, I'd have switched to PS3 by now.
Now they are just assholes.

I'm find with them raising the prices. Like they said in the article since 2002 they have added a ton of new features (basically everything besides the ability to connect to other users is new).
They're having a $10 discount until the price raises so buy your next years membership now. Also, around Christmas they have huge deals for subscriptions. Last year I got a year for $29.99
