• What does Facepunch think of Aion?

I'm just wondering what the general consensus on Aion is as I was thinking of starting up an account on it but I don't want to walk into a game I will just get very bored with quickly. I have heard a lot of good and bad things about it but I ask you people of Facepunch, what do you think about Aion?
I tried it two times (and spent over $100 on it) and just couldn't get into it.
I quite liked it to be honest. Gonna buy more game time next week.
gay weeaboo shit
wow 2.0 worse and shittier version of it Wow is popular because of its cartoony graphics which look good anyways, aions graphics dont look so good even tho they use cryengine or something.
It's alright but it just lacks content, Game has been out for sometime and virtually nothing extra was added and they seem to relying on the large overhaul and I would personally wait till that happens before trying it. It was rubbish, couldn't get into it at all. It was very pretty but it's PvE was incredibly weak with the excuse that it's meant to be a PvP game, but the PvP was shit too.
Was a waste of money. I suggest you don't bother with it.
My account is activate and im playin.... it is a good game and you should buy it becoz the goo runs over the fortress of supergaping monkeys on a mountain.
NCsoft games are pure quality, anyone saying its a korean farmfest is wrong, I made 41-50 in less then 2 weeks while playing roughly 3 hours a day and had fun doing it. I barely even farmed solo mobs if not at all, most of the time i was in instances getting exp and gear (there are plenty of instances in the game) then when i wanted some pvp i would go on a rift (portal to the enemy faction areas) and farm some Abyss Points (pvp points that you can spend on buying elite gear). you cant judge a game before you play it, some people thinks they know everything about a game from some gameplay videos.. EU - Telemachus. edit: here's a trailer for a big expansion that will come out next year:
It's another Korean/pseudo anime MMORPG. Not interested.
I'd say don't bother with Aion. Unless they pulled out a fucking miracle. There is no way they fixed it to where it's worth paying for. I still remember entering lvl 35-40 rifts and coming through to a lvl 11-20 zone and killing all of them until the zerg of 50s came to their rescue.
gay weeaboo shit
From Korea? :downs: The game is generic though.
NCsoft games are pure quality
Talk about fanboying.

That's ridiculous.. That's grinding same content to achieve max level where you can enjoy the max level content... and that's boring
Talk about fanboying.
He has a point though. I've played a lot of their games. Dungeon Runners was a great game (i got pretty far, but it's hard without the subcrip). Exteel was bloody amazing, imo. They do have good quality to them.

The game tries to bring you in the first 20 -30 levels but then turns into a grindfest with unbalanced PvP. Also the crafting system is just atrocious.
NCsoft always has ups and downs with their games. Some can be good some can be bad, they normally sort it out after release, I don't see much in Aion. I don't see the CryEngine in it (or whatever that nice engine was). Maybe this new expansion will turn my head.
Grinding... Nothing more to say.
They've made a huge mistake by making no regular MMO trial available. I'd like to try it but refuse to pay without trying first. Because of their failure, I will never try or get hooked on this.
Grind to 50, grind twice as long to get half decent gear, don't bother unless you have a lot of spare time or friends to play with
It's a piece of shit, don't get it. Don't listen to rang the fanboi either. You grind your ass to 50(55 after the expansion) then you grind every day for some balaur hearts that fail with the RNG craft system. You happen to make pants when the server crashes and you get a roll back and you contact support after 3 weeks. They then go "O sowwy we give you lodas amulets". That's all they ever freaking gave >.> Don't bother with it b/c better games will come out later this year or earlyish next year.
I hate MMOs that don't provide free trials I'm interested but not enough to shell out cash before I know it's good What a stupid marketing strategy
