I'm looking to invest in the Steam market, and to start a discussion with people who have the same interest in mind to build up more $ in their wallet. Now that the summer sale is over, what are your thoughts on the market fluctuation of the summer getaway cards? Right now i'm focused on buying them under 20 cents a card, while looking to double down my profit in the long run. As i'm writing this, The inventory of the cards are decreasing dramatically, as the cards were over 40k market stock, and dropping as more people craft them, which makes them more scarcer to find. In the future, will these cards reach their peak of $2.00 per card when the sale first started? Your thoughts.

Otherwise I'd of offered you mine to help ya out.
I'm regretting crafting mine now.
Still have cards left over. I'm going to try over the course of the next couple of days to trade for more of them; either to complete my 4th level badge or turn a profit. Their value can only go up from here.
Their value can only go up from here.
How SURE are you of that? Do you believe these cards will be a sought rarity years from now?

I bought 1363 Skyrim summer sale cards in the hope that someday they will be worth more. I also wanted to try to fuel a bubble just for fun. You can check my inventory if you don't believe me.
I'm holding a full set of the summer cards, waiting for the price to raise

It seems most Summer Sale Cards have gone up about ten cents in the past few days.

Best of luck and hope you reach a considerable profit [editline]24th July 2013[/editline]
It seems most Summer Sale Cards have gone up about ten cents in the past few days.
the skyrim card went up to 46 cents at most. lucky i jumped on it at around 20 cents, but lately it dropped back down. here's hoping it will boost back up
Best of luck and hope you reach a considerable profit
I'm starting to wonder what I'll even do if I reach a profit. It's not like I can get the money out of steam, so I guess this will fuel my summer sales for the next 5 years.
The cards are going to disappear as people craft badges, so joe_sandwich just got considerable control over the market. And buying only one type was ingenious, because he's gonna dominate that last necessary card in a few months. tldr joe_sandwich is mitt romney
He dropped like $200 on virtual trading cards that when/if they become profitable, will only give him money in his Steam wallet. It's not a bad idea to drop money on the cards but that much is incredibly silly. [editline]24th July 2013[/editline] That and the fact that the amount of people that even care about crafting the badges will continue to drop considerably until there's an extremely small number of people who would even want to purchase the cards.

The market for those cards will continue to become slimmer because those who desire to craft badges will get what they want. In a few months/years, the cards will go up in rarity but won't go up in demand. He's essentially putting all of his money on the fact that people will still want to craft the summer sale badges but the only people who would care to either already have or are in extremely small number which means a slow trickle of profit. If he does make bank on this, more power to him, but I doubt it and wouldn't recommend it to anyone, especially in that much of an investment.
