Right, I've been looking at buying the latest Red Faction game for a fiver. It seems like a good deal but since it's an older game which uses Games for Windows Live (Which I recently found out I don't have a problem with as it's not as intrusive as some other DRM and the acheivements actually feel rewarding when you get them and think that everyone that hates the system should be slightly quieter about it as even though STEAM is better for digital distribution, this is a perfectly alright acheivement engine).
Anyways, since it uses Games for Windows Live, I wasn't sure if the DRM would have scared the community away, because generally it's not a DRM that everyone loves. If it's got no players on Multiplayer, is the Singleplayer worth it?
Destruction is pretty fun and usually realistic until you see that a whole building is being held up by a single pole.
Yeah but does anyone still play it?
I never see anyone on. It's good if you're having a LAN party, though.
Nah, no-one ever plays it. Sad thing is it's such a great game :-(
If I buy it, will you all play with me? Or is it more devoid of players than Blacklight Tango Down?

I'll do it, I yearn for a good game on RD:R Now-a-days. Also singleplayer is awesome.
I hate how games like Bad Company get praised so much for destruction when games like this do destruction a million times better.
Multiplayer is pretty much dead

Mods. There's one that allows you to adjust how weak the materials (as a whole) are to your liking.

Considering Volition actually had to study construction to learn how to get their buildings to stand thanks to GeoMod2.0, it is a shame. The singleplayer is still fun for smashing everything to hell and back, I really need to install the PC version, had to give my PS3 version back to a friend.
Cool - I shall buy it today.
The destruction is great fun, but it's still not as good as you would want it. The game does have multiplayer. I don't know if there's much modding for the game, but I would just get the console version.
I wish the developers came up with a stronger story and presented it better. Also, I wish that the open world was more developed. It's just mostly boring terrain with cookie cutter buildings placed sparsely over it. It doesn't feel as developed or as interesting as GTA: San Andreas.
I'll play with you <3
I remember when the game first came out and we had Facepunch scheduled matches. It was amazingly fun, but now no one really plays it and the rest of the game feels kinda boring to me.
I got it when I bought Metro 2033, I got it on Steam when I activated Metro 2033. Havnt played it though, I enjoyed Red Faction 1&2, they were linear.
there is absolutely no one on multiplayer, last time I was on there was like 4 people

More like two.
You cannot get even a full Anarchy game going anymore.
If you want, we could make a steam group?
Just looked, there is already one.

If the game was STEAM based instead of GFWL, it would be so much fucking better. GFWL is the bane of my existence and ruins games. What ever happened to dedicated servers? When a game doesn't have very many people dedicated servers is the best thing for it, you can start one with your friends and hope people join.
I never played the MP for RFG, but I did play the SP and I had a LOT of fun. This game seriously needs to be a co-op title. Driving a truck into a wall, getting out into the building and then smashing everything to pieces with your sledgehammer... fucking badass.

This is so bullshit, have you even played the damn game?
The buildings can stand with ridiculously low support.
Got it on sale at Christmas on Steam for $9.99 :smug:
Not once have I regretted that decision.

It is made out of stronger material than Earth buildings, but many times if it's only on one support it'll break if it is left like that long enough.
Usually people just watch it stay like that for 10 seconds, but most of the time when that has happened to me it eventually snaps.
