Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale - "What are ya buyin?"

[b]What the hell is this?[/b]
Ever play a RPG? At all? You know the shopkeeps that you look at, then never care about? Well this is all about playing as that shopkeeper. Recettear is a young girl who's struggling to pay off her fathers debt by running the best damn item shop in town. You help her make sales, meet adventurers and keep in the market against Wal-Mart type companies trying to muscle in on you.

[b]So I just sell and stuff?[/b]
That's half of it, you can buy wallpapers, decorate your shop, expand, and spruce the place up adding more and more to your shop. Though customers won't exactly get tired of buying apples you won't be able to get through life that easy. You'll have to go into dungeons with adventurers you hire and hunt for treasures to add to your displays. This handles like a rougelike, randomly generating dungeons for you to loot and plunder with bosses every 5 or so floors. When you're done with that you can take your share of the treasure and sell it.

Cool part is said adventurers that you hire will show up at your shop, and try to buy better equipment you put out, making it easier to go deeper into dungeons. Each adventurer is special and each one specialize in weapons and skills, Louie, for example, is your first adventurer and wielder of swords, plays like link with spin attacks and sword beams and such.

Overall there's several ways to play, and you can train and level up your mercs any way you wish to.

I agree on that part, sometimes I just kinda cringe when it's trying to hard to be cute, but it's generally acceptable, anime or not I strongly suggest trying it out. Just be warned, you -only- have japanese voice overs so if you are a idiot and intolerant of that then you may play with your speakers muted for the most part.
