You can get Magic The Gathering: Duels of The Planeswalkers and it's expansions. It's a great game.
Amnesia: The Dark Descent is good too.
Also, a very good option is to choose to wait. Steam has great sales all the time, so just wait. Heck, the Christmas sales are a few months away.

Minecraft. First person building/survival thing.
Fallout Collection. Classics.
Altitude and Killing Floor. I believe you can both for under 20 bucks, damn fine games.
