• What's the DSI/DS XXL (or whatever) like?

My old DS lite is bunged up pretty bad. It's not unplayable, but I just figured I would ask about the two new ones. Also, don't say 'wait for 3DS', I don't want one. So are they good, or bad, or terrible, or awesome. Just give me some general pros and cons of them.
DSi is a beefed up DS. It doesn't play GBA games though The XL is just a bigger version of the DSi, marketed for people with big hands or bad eyes (or both).
I know you said don't wait for the 3DS but seriously why not? It's not a long wait..
I have the DSIXL, and I like it. The normal one is too small for my hands.
Stick with a lite. GBA games are worth it.
Just wondering, why don't you want the 3DS? [editline]10:15PM[/editline] Also, I have an old lite just to play Gameboy games, or did, until It was sat on :saddowns:

I haven't gotten a DS since the original DS phat and I'm proud of that fact. I think I might actually get a 3DS though.

The reason I don't want a 3DS is because I don't want gimmicky 3D graphics, I just want to play my games normally.
Heh can't wait til launch and you regret it. It's not all about the 3D graphics.
You can turn the 3d graphics off.
The reason I don't want a 3DS is because I don't want gimmicky 3D graphics, I just want to play my games normally.
3D is 100% optional. Don't waste you're money on a DSi. If you don't want a 3DS because you think it's a gimmick, then you will be disappointed with a DSi because it's more of a gimmick than the 3DS will be. Just stick with a Lite if you're still bent on not getting a 3DS.
I was wondering if you were going to say you didn't want it because of the 3D. Pretty stupid reason. I hate 3D and portable gaming mostly bores me but the 3DS's starting line up of games looks fantastic.
I'd say get a DSi XL. I want one. On a related note, I have an original phat ds in pretty good condition. How much gamestop credit do you think I could get if I traded it in? I want a DSi but they're still expensive :frown:
Don't get a DSi. Camera and mic is fun for a little while, but gets boring when you realise its just a cheap gimmick. Slightly bigger screen than the lite though, if you're into that kinda thing. Also you cant play GBA games which sorta pissed me off since the DSi was my first DS (but I kept my GBA SP so woo.) Honestly, keep the lite until it isn't playable anymore or until the 3DS comes out. Its not like it adds 3D onto -every- single game, and games will stop coming out for the DS eventually so you will -have- to get a 3DS.
The reason I don't want a 3DS is because I don't want gimmicky 3D graphics, I just want to play my games normally.
Pretty much what i said about the DS and its gimmicky touch controls. Here i am 6 years later happily enjoying my DS.
I know the graphics don't make the game but it has to be said that the new graphics look fucking incredible :iia:
