Activision's alliance with Bungie provide the studio with its first such partnership since it split with former owner Microsoft in 2007. The studio's Halo Reach topped the official UK Chart this morning - outselling Halo 3's opening week figures. Bungie is a good company and all (even if you don't like Halo, it's hard to say Bungie is a bad place to work at), but the last remaining independent developer? I agree but I would add Valve to it and then it's good. I mean Bungie integrated their website and game so well, and Valve releases games and contents with the customers in mind.

Besides, Bungie's only current game is the Halo franchise. The games are decent but it's nothing to give them the "last remaining high quality dev" award. There have been much better FPS games than Halo. In terms of listening to the fans then yes, Bungie does that really well. But so does Valve, soooooo...
