THE FACEPUNCH CREW HAS BEEN MADE AND IT HAS BEEN NAMED THE FACEPUNCHARRS! SEND A TELL TO SHORTYISH TO JOIN!:siren: Puzzle Pirates is a java based F2P Puzzle MMORPG with Pirate elements. Do puzzles onboard mighty ships to accumulate enough booty to become an officer or even command your own crew! With over 20 different puzzles with 10 different difficulties each, you will master them in no time! Puzzles include:

Bilge Pumping fer clearing the hull o' the bilge water that slows the vessel down
Sailing, brings the vessel up to speed
Rigging, an alternative method for bringing a ship up to speed
Navigation, keeps her on course and helps acceleration
Gunnery, for loading the cannons in battle
Carpentry, for repairing damage from rocks, shots, and the cruel seas
Treasure Haul, for plundering booty from sunken vessels
Poker, a group card game of wagering and skill
AND MANY MORE Starting Out Welcome to Puzzle Pirates! When you first start the game, you will start on a random island. (If you want, choose the Malachite server. I will be making the FP crew there.) Find a notice board by the docks, and go to the Voyages tab. Find a crew to pillage with and press apply. If you get accepted, you will be asked if you want to be teleported to the ship. Press yes. When you are on the boat, get onto the puzzle station of your choice. (Bilging, Sailing, Rigging, and Carpentry are your choices at this point.) Do the puzzles untill you get to the destination. When you do, you will vote on the booty division. If you like it (which you should) press yes. You will be given a chunk of the winnings of that trip. Spend it on anything of your liking, from poker to furniture. Currency There are two types of currency in Puzzle Pirates. One is called Pieces of Eight(referred to as PoE) and Doubloons. PoE is the money that you get from pillaging, playing poker, working, ect. To get doubloons, you need to exchange a certain amount of PoE for one. The cost of doubloons fluctuates often, so if you think the price is too high, wait a day or two for the price to lower. To exchange PoE for doubloons, go to the bank. There will be a table that says "Doubloon Exchange". Click it and to to Buy Doubloons (easy). Type in the amount of doubloons you want and press buy, and you're set! Doubloons are used for delivery fees, badges, and fairly expensive items. Doubloons can be also bought with a credit card, but that is frowned upon. Types of Crews and How to get into one -to be finished Increasing your Rank/Getting a Promotion To increase in rank, you need a certain rank of your piracy skills (bilging, sailing, carpentry, ect) plus the badge of the rank you need to get a promotion to. To get your badge, go to the palace shop. There will be a badge section, and all of the badges have different rank use, and they all need to be paid in doubloons. Pirate badges are only 1 doubloon each, and last for 30 days. Pirate is the rank that comes after Cabin person (the rank you start as in a crew). But badges isnt the only requirement! Each crew might have a different set a rules for each rank. Such as: Only 1 rank upgrade a week, or gaining their trust. Or maybe having broad in all of your piracy skills. Its up to the captain. Parlor and Card Games Poker: The best way to make money in this game. And probably in any game with poker in it. The game is almost always Texas Hold-Em Treasure Drop: This is a modified version of the game from the Price is Right "Plinko". You drop a poe down a shaft with arms that have a cup end and a stick end. One of the more underplayed games. Hearts:Just like the real life game. Spades:Just like the real life game. Drinking:Drinking is a game where you place different cups to form rows. Different cups have different scoring values and effects. I don't play this alot, so i don't know the advanced rules and such. Swordfighting:Even though you play this during pillages, its considered a parlor game. Its a modified version of tetris, where you make blocks of matching pieces and use breakers to break them. Brawling:Also used during pillages. All you do in this game is make big clumps of same color balls using charged balls (by holding the mouse) and breaking them to make a giant hit. It is even possible to make a 1-hit-ko in this game. Piracy and Work Puzzles Sailing:I hate this game. With a passion. All you do in this game is match the blocks into the corresponding colored slots on the board. Controlled like tetris. Very easy to fuck up. Bilging:A basic matching game. The more pieces you match with one swap, the more points you get. Rigging:The better half of sailing. It gives the same effects, but is way easier (in my opinion) Just put as many matching pieces onto a pulley to get big points. Carpentry:A hard game to get into. The easiest way to get increds is to go fast and work around the edges first. Gunnery:Vital for pillages. Just load the four cannons by putting powder first, then rags, and finally a cannonball. Then, when the cannon is used, wash it out with water. You can also wash out booched cannons with water. Treasure Haul:Rarely used, but is a fun and quick game. Its like bilging, except played vertically. Navigation:I never really understood how this game worked. At all. Battle Navigation:To do this, you need to be an officer. This is what you see when your working during a fight in the upper right corner of your duty station. All you do is put arrows and cannons into the command box to make your ship move on the next turn. Like a turn based game. I used to play this a while ago, but everyone who had a ship were cunts, and I rarely ever got onto one. Was fun though, can't really be bothered to start playing it again (unless FP makes its own crew or something).
We actually have a MMO section. Post it there.
i plan on starting a FP crew eventually
I'll be sure to join. :buddy:
I remember loving this when I was about 12. But when I asked my mum for a subscription she thought it was just some shitty matching game (I was playing the Bilge puzzle at the time) and said I could only have one (Runescape). I was in tears :v: I should try it again some time.
I used to play this, highest I got in it was doing runs with a friends sloop, was great fun. I'd start playing again for a FP crew.
I owned a Merchant Brig in this a few years back, was like 3 months of working. Was a captain of a shitty crew at one point.
i plan on starting a FP crew eventually [editline]12:42AM[/editline] tbh, it has no real mmo elements (no abilities, monsters, loot ect) i couldnt come up with a better name for it
mmo doesn't just relate to mmorpgs you know. puzzle pirates may not be an rpg but it still is a massively multiplayer online game
mmo doesn't just relate to mmorpgs you know. puzzle pirates may not be an rpg but it still is a massively multiplayer online game
by that logic, tf2, css, and any other game that is multiplayer and online should be in the MMO section.
TF2 is actually a lot like an MMO with the equipment...
Has anything new been added in since '07? Also, unfortunately I won't be able to play with my old account since I didn't write the details down anywhere, but I'd assume that there would be plenty of FPers with new account anyway.
Yes, yes and yes. I love this game. [editline]09:47PM[/editline]
Has anything new been added in since '07?
Yeah there's a shit load of new stuff. I played earlier this year. They added more games, and a new form of sailing.
Yeah there's a shit load of new stuff. I played earlier this year. They added more games, and a new form of sailing.
Is the new sailing any easier than the old one? I sucked at it a lot.
by that logic, tf2, css, and any other game that is multiplayer and online should be in the MMO section.
not really, TF2 has hundreds of different servers where up to 30 players play together in a round-based game this game is an MMO because it has hundreds of players on the same server, playing the same game.
Is the new sailing any easier than the old one? I sucked at it a lot.
very.
very.
Well, that's good news!
The only reason to play is poker, then the reason to quit is losing all your money.
Holy shit, I remember this. Had loads of fun just dicking around on random crews and such. We need a FP crew now.
added a "starting out" section
So, when will the crew be made exactly? Soon hopefully?
I used to play this all the time with some close friends. A while ago I bought a War Brig just because I had about 50 or 60k lying around. Still have it and I don't even play :v:
So, when will the crew be made exactly? Soon hopefully?
to be honest, i didnt start back untill a little while ago. thats why i said "eventually" :v:
used to play this, but stop playing it after people become asshat's...
Oh man I really should pick this back up, I remember it being awesome.
I would play again but I got banned for sexual harassment.
I see they haven't changed Bilging at all, I always loved doing it.
I remember playing this.. it was so fun.
I remember theeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees who wants to start an FP crew, say aye
I remember theeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees who wants to start an FP crew, say aye
We've already established that we're starting one, but we need someone who can actually get the ship shit for the crew.
