http://www.1up.com/news/super-street-fighter-4-canceled WE SHALL STOP PIRACY BY MAKING IT SO THERE IS NOTHING TO PIRATE
Sounds like a p. good plan imo.
Yes, because the game absolutely wouldn't make a profit on PC so lets punish all the legitimate customers for what a small group of idiots do.
And nothing of value was lost.
And nothing of value was lost.
So rather than make a profit and have a few people pirate the game they're not going to make any money off it at all? Okay. Yes, I know consoles, but they're still losing a market for a retarded reason.
And nothing of value was lost.
And with this, there is nothing left to say in this thread.
What's the difference between this and normal Street Fighter 4?
They should really just stop trying to find DRMs and copy-protections because no game had ever been left uncracked, most tough DRMs just delayed them (Splinter Cell, Assassin's Creed 2 etc.). The arcade versions themselves are already running in a PC setup so I see why not just go ahead and get the extra sales in the PC market. I mean the console versions themselves aren't free from piracy either. [editline]12:16AM[/editline]
What's the difference between this and normal Street Fighter 4?
New characters and stages, new combos and ultras, new music, different arcade mode story, re-polished controls and health system and overhauls and improvements online.
New characters and stages, new combos and ultras, new music, different arcade mode story, re-polished controls and health system and overhauls and improvements online.
Yet still essentially DLC and bugfixes for the same price as the original game. :raise:
They should just release it, they say it's 99 percent ready they're loosing more money than what they wold lose through piracy.
Great. I hope more developers/publisher do this so it can result in some serious change of attitude among those who pirate.
Yet still essentially DLC and bugfixes for the same price as the original game. :raise:
Actually it was released with a way lower price than the original game. It had always been like that in the past Street Fighter games, release full game on consoles after some time in arcade, then after some months they release an expansion with a lower price and some changes and stuff. That's why I always wait out for a Street Fighter expansion every time they release a new one.
Steam :downs:
Great. I hope more developers/publisher do this so it can result in some serious change of attitude among those who pirate.
Do you really think the average pirate cares about one game? They can download any one of hundreds of games at no cost to them. They can get their fix elsewhere. The only thing that this is accomplishing is turning away potential buyers because, in their mind, potential profit lost is worth more than actual profit gained. It's a stupid business decision; they already have the game releasing for an arcade cabinet that runs on windows xp. He even said it was 99% done. It astounds me how they can wonder why they aren't doing well financially.
What's worse is they refuse to release it on Steam because it's unfair for those who can't get it through a digital distribution platform. That statement right there just shows how incredibly lazy and incompetent the devs are. Firstly, if it is so unfair to release it on Steam, isn't it unfair to group all the potential customers in the same group as the pirates. Secondly, it's perfectly viable to do a disk release that integrates with Steam. Empire Total War did this, I can't see why they wouldn't be able to either. Oh right the devs are lazy, have a backwards business plan, and only lame excuses to cover up for it. Why don't they just admit that they don't want to do a PC release instead of feeding us this bullshit? That being said I wasn't going to buy it in the first place since fighting games aren't my style, but I can imagine how pissed real fans are.
Japanese devs are always way behind on shit
Why are Japan so far ahead in some areas, yet so far behind in others?
I don't mind them to not sell the same crap over and over again on PC. I like to play SFIV once in a while, but I'm not paying the full price for more of the same with just a few changes here and there. They should sell SSFIV rather as DLC on PC. But if the reason is Piracy they might as well quit selling for XBox360 as well. Only risk is getting banned, and pirating 4 games will save you the money to buy a second XBox360 to do the legal stuff. I do have an XBox360 but I don't really use it because I like to play more on my PC anyway with 4 wireless XBox360 controllers hooked up to it in the resolutions I desire on my TV, and more and more new Windows games support them and have splitscreen, like Sonic Allstars Racing. So why in the heck would I stand up to get me an XBox360 game, put it in the drive when I have so many games available by one mouseclick? Playing DJ swapping discs for every game is something from the past for me :-)
Great. I hope more developers/publisher do this so it can result in some serious change of attitude among those who pirate.
Or to simply cut out the crap from the good stuff instead of releasing half assed games because of experiments against pirating and hacks which end up useless as always. Yes, im looking at you IW and MW2 :colbert: (Not saying SF4 and SSF4 would be shit btw)
This is why PC gamers can't have nice things. :saddowns:
Because there's no piracy on Xbox360 and PS3... IMO dumb approach.
Because there's no piracy on Xbox360 and PS3... IMO dumb approach.
While there is indeed piracy on the 360 it's not even close to as widespread as piracy is on PC. Oh, and there's no piracy for the PS3
Oh, and there's no piracy for the PS3
Completely and utterly wrong.
I can use an application from my TI-84 plus to allow the PS3 to play my old PS2 backups. Search it on Youtube.
And nothing of value was lost.
Wow, no. I would definitely buy a second copy of the game on PC to play with non-console-owning friends, so this sucks.
And nothing of value was lost.
You clearly know nothing about value
It took a while but you can now have games copied to the Playstation 3 hardrive, and it's piss easy to softmod.
It took a while but you can now have games copied to the Playstation 3 hardrive, and it's piss easy to softmod.
And by piss easy he means it literally is easier than taking a piss. So yeah PS3 is opened up now for massively easy pirating.
Great. I hope more developers/publisher do this so it can result in some serious change of attitude among those who pirate.
"Hey someone offered me one million for a game, but told me I'd lose half of it " "What did you do ?" "I refused, of course !
