(This is a jab at Joystiq, not the consoles)
Let's check out Joystiq! I want to read about the upcoming consoles!
Sony's plan this time around involves lower development costs at the outset. "The amount of investment is much, much smaller," Chief Financial Officer Masaru Kato said, pointing to Sony's PC-like design decisions for the PS4.
Sounds like the PS4 is taking the right steps to avoid losing out on a ton of money! Sony is pretty smart! Let's check out the source, I've never heard of Bloomberg!

Holy shit what?!
Those currency-related losses are poised to deepen as analysts project a further 10 percent rise in the dollar by the end of Sony’s year in March, based on 74 analysts’ estimates compiled by Bloomberg. That would put the yen at about 106 to the dollar, compared with 96.6 today and 86.7 at the start of 2013. Sony predicts the rate will remain around 100 yen.
Shit, that's going to hit Sony hard, and it's not even their fault! Hopefully they can profit from software sales!
Let's check out the Xbox One! I wonder if there's been any recent announcements?
Microsoft also announced that similar functionality will be applied to digital versions of Xbox One games. When someone purchases and downloads a game onto their console, every one of that console's users will also have access to that game, regardless of whether the person who purchased it is signed in (Xbox 360 games work similarly now). Similarly, every game you've purchased digitally will be available to you on any Xbox One that you sign in on.
Wait, how is this limited? I can take my digital games to my friend's house and my family can still play my games..? Isn't this just like PS4 and Xbox 360 except more retail games will be digital??

Thanks for reading!
The xbox one part is limited in the sense that yes you could download it on your buddies xbox one but you both can't play it at the same time. So it's "unlimited" limited downloads.

Your console will always have the game, and if your account is elsewhere, that console can play too. The Xbox 360 is the same way. :j
-sniparoo completely misread it-

No, while the consoles will both have the games only 1 console will be able to play since the xbox one will be able to detect which game was downloaded from which account and if it is currently being played. Also IIRC they removed the family sharing since there is no 24 hour check-in.

Reading the Xbox Wire post, you'll be able to play it on a total of two consoles at once. I'll use Xbox 360 license handling as an example.
When you purchase a game, you get two licenses: A console license, and an account license. The console license is what lets you play offline, if you have a console license assigned to your console you can play the game no matter what. This license is also what can be transferred to other consoles through "license transfer" on the 360 dashboard. The account license, however, requires Xbox Live and is what allows you to to take your games to a friend's house without affecting the home copy.

Lmao right? Just like every other platform!

I knew of the Home console/away console trick was going to still be around and all you do is set your home console to your buddy and vice versa and boom. 2 people playing at the same time but honestly how long will MS let that go before they lock it down to 1game1console.

There will likely be security and account features tied to the home console, but as it stands now it will be just like 360.
Edit: I lied. It'll be easier to get games at home.
Because your digital games go with you, you can also use and share digital games when you sign in to another console. And, if you happen to buy a digital game when you are signed in on your friend’s console, your game will also be available on your Home Xbox One console for anyone to use.
Uh what? The only way it wouldn't work on other platforms is if the game has a network pass or an equivalent. You can lend most single player games without any issue.

Yeah, it works just like every other platform. I think you can cheat the PS3's licensing system, but I don't have much experience with the ins and outs of it's network except for the obvious stuff.
Wait sorry I just completely got physical games and digital game sharing mixed up fuck.
