PSP Games Coming to PS3 With HD Visuals and Extra Content

Awesome news. Ill finally be able to get my hands on Peace Walker.
Sony today unveiled a new initiative whereby select PlayStation Portable titles will be ported to the PlayStation 3, with improvements made along the way to (hopefully) make the whole thing worthwhile.
It's called the PlayStation Portable Remaster Series, and sees certain PSP games re-released on the PS3 with enhancements like exclusive new content, HD graphics, control pad support and more.
There's even multiplayer compatibility, with the PS3 versions of the game able to be played over Sony's Ad Hoc multiplayer service for the PSP.
Most interesting, and promising for existing PSP gamers, is that save games for these titles will work on both systems, so you can take the same campaign from PSP to PS3 and back again.
The first game announced for this line is smash hit (in Japan) Monster Hunter Portable 3rd, which will be re-released on the PS3 this Summer (in Japan). Sony says more game announcements from more publishers will be coming down the pipeline.
It would be a crazy, crazy world if Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and the PSP God of War games were not among the first titles revealed for the service.
I'd love to play that if I wasn't so shit at monster hunter.
Fuck yea, this is awesome!
Fuck yes, now I can play those games I missed out on (if they are among the released ones).
Didn't really like Monster hunter but used to play it in Coop with a friend who showed it to me.
my pants are wet... please port patapon as well!
Are you shitting me.
I mean yeah this is great news but I went out and bought peace walker a week ago and borrowed my sister's PSP. I'd probably much rather be playing on console.
Oh well, still a great game. Would be neat if all the PSP MGS games got released, although I guess a non-portable version of portable ops wouldn't make a hell of a lot of sense.

Peace Walker is $20 and no where does it say Peace Walker is coming to the PS3. The only one shitting anyone is yourself.
They'd have to be smoking some serious shit not to realize how much they could be rolling in it if they released peace walker.
Basically what I'm saying is that there's a very high probability that it'll be there. The PSP is almost dead and there are shittons of people who want to play it but can't be assed to shell out $120 on another console. If they made it like a PSN download or some shit i'd be willing to say it'd sell multiple times better than it did on the PSP.
Well, the PSP should be phased out soon since the NGP is unassumingly coming out next year.

I know thats not confirmation, but the author of that article makes a lot of sense, it would be fucking stupid not to re release HD versions of some of its best games. Especially ones there will be demand for.
I doubt it will be "among the first" unless they've been at it for some time though. Peace walker is a huge fucking game and you can't just slap it on another console with full compatibility, intense graphical updates, and new content like that.
Plus i'm not sure how well the menus would transition.

But it still does not confirm. People would love MGS 1-3 being remade on the PS3 and 360 and have so since the launch of the PS3 but has that happened?

The base stuff or the item selection stuff?
oh my GOD
I actually had to hold in a cheer when I saw Monster Hunter Portable 3rd as confirmed
I've been waiting for a Monster Hunter game on the PS3 for so long I think I might die
No more claw!
The base stuff or the item selection stuff?
Yeah, mostly things like the weapons development menus/personnel menus/operation menus. They sorta seem built around the PSP.
I hope if it is ported the controls are adapted to a more conventional approach like the other games.
No more claw!
I didn't even think of that, I've grown so used to the claw
Oh my GODDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
I don't want to sleep now this is too awesome
Damn, the PS3 version will probably be the better version of MH.
Which is good, but I don't have a PS3 D:

It probably wouldn't be difficult to include the extra set of triggers the dual-shock 3 has for the item menus like the old MGS games.
Burnout Legends on PS3...
Now the question is raised:
When will MHP3 officially come out in North America?
(I really hope soon)
oh fuck off, i just bought a psp to play all the games
now they're most likely going to be ported to ps3
oh well, odds are the bonus content will be nothing special
[editline]22nd May 2011[/editline]
also @ the peace walker talk, there's already been some rumours about peace walker being ported to ps3

Judging by previous releases, I'm betting around November. Probably before the end of the year. I'm waiting for the NGP because my PSP got fucked up though.
Speaking of which, how does the NGP handle backwards compability D:
No UMD, but PS store purchases carry. So buy it on the PS store when it's localized
That's shit. I'm counting on CFW then, but considering how long it took to crack the PS3 god knows how long the NGP will take.
also @ the peace walker talk, there's already been some rumours about peace walker being ported to ps3
Those were old rumors just based on an interview and a survey, this is the only thing that really carries some sort of hope.
Holy shit, I just realized.
The first PSP Ridge Racer on PS3
I hope it gets added. I am willing to buy a PS3...

I barely see a difference.
Peace Walker, please.
I barely see a difference.
well of course the polyocount remains the same so does the textures I guess
but the game's running in high-definition instead of standard-definition so
just like ICO and SotC and GoW 1-2
alright I'm not selling my ps3 anymore.
About time we got a proper console monster hunter.
