What exactly does everyone on FP have against referral links? It's not hard to remove the obvious referral in the URL, and the only to get people to be referred is to give out the link, there's not exactly another way to do that.

The point is that referral link would be fair if you said it was referral link and provided a normal link with it.
Thing is, most users do not do that. And that's a pretty asshole move, just posting on this site wanting referrals. It's referral crap.
