The developers themselves have said its a reboot, it has no connections other than lore to anything castlevania.

They also made Jericho which is a horrible POS game, so I'm kinda worried but it seems to be getting decent reviews so far for a god of war thing.

It's completely an alternate universe apart from the original series, no relation with the old ones at all.
