The funny thing about ExitE...... Thats Portal deathmatch, thats how shitty it would be and why Valve avoided it. Oh and I leaked this mod in 2006 3 days before release :smug:
You werent there bro, you dont know man. Also Dude2193
Leaks can cause serious damage to a mod while it is still under development. When a mod gets leaked it ends up making the dev team that much more paranoid. As a resut they are more reluctant to let anyone else have a copy while it is still under development. This leads to inferior beta testing and as a result a buggy, unpolished mod. I'd rather wait a bit longer each time and have a good mod rather than download a buggy piece of crap just because a few impatient kids don't understand how important the final polishing and bug-fixing stage is. Nightmare House 2 was completely playable from start to finish for about 6 months before release. We tested it heavily, fixed every single bug we found and did our best to refine the gameplay. If NH2 had been leaked 2 months into this stage it would have done a lot of damage to the mod. Most of our target audience would have downloaded an incomplete buggy version of the mod, played through it and decided that it sucked. Then 4 months later when the mod is ready for release, most people have downloaded the leak and have a bad expectation so they don't bother downloading the proper version and probably end up giving the mod a rating like 6/10 on ModDB based on their past experience. Both parties lose. The players get a bad experience and the developers get a bad reception. The damage a leak like that would do to a mod teams enthusiasm and morale would also be really bad. You spend months and months working on something really hard to discover that some kid has posted it on a torrent site long before it's complete. Now loads of people are downloading an incomplete buggy version of your mod and have come to the conclusion that it sucks. This feedback will inevitably find its way back to you and pretty much kill any motivation you have to work on the mod. Leaks are bad. If you download/spread/cause a leak you are a twat and you're damaging the modding community.
This reminds me of the time when that stupid german bitch leaked Half Life 2 beta. He deserves to burn in hell.
Ehh. I kinda liked how the new HL2 turned out compared to the older hl2.
Here you can see how a mod discussion turned into a hl2 beta discussion
Here you can see how a mod discussion turned into a hl2 beta discussion
Beautiful, isn't it?
Beautiful, isn't it?
Someone should take a picture.
