I know there are more WWII video games then there are electrons on uranium, but I'm sure one of them piqued your interest.
A personal Favorite of mine was Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30. The whole game had an atmosphere of that was just so engaging. I actually became attached to the characters, and when they died it was so heart wrenching. Also the music and the Weather made the whole game so moody and dark that it was just engaging to walk from battle to battle.

Allied Assault here as well. For Gamecube.
CoD and CoD:UO. So many hours spent on those games.
Although not strictly sticking to the history, probably Silent Storm. And Company of Heroes. WW2Online was pretty good too, waiting for the big update that's upposed to come soon (or has it already?). First CoD was nice as well. There's way too many, damnit.

Hell, the entire Combat Mission series is good once you get used to the camera controls and the fact that three soldiers are actually an eight man squad.

So original and miles ahead of every other military shooter at the time. When everyone else was trying to be [I]Call of Duty[/I], this thing came along and showed people a way of making a moderately realistic, immersing shooter on consoles.
Call of Duty 1, I spent so many hours on that game!
