Wanted to post some new screens of what we've been doing on the mod recently, spread the word as we get closer to a release (finally). We've been doing weekly playtests and crunching out a lot of game play issues and bugs. Also adding core features such as the Juggernaut vision / HUD. Most of our playtests are on this one level as some might notice, but I'm working hard on getting a new level out asap, this one will feature our vehicles which should be interesting to see as well after not playing with them for quite some time. That HUD on the minigun screenshots is a damn clusterfuck. And what the hell is up with your texture resolutions and detail? I don't expect a Sourcemod to look better than HL2, but I don't expect it to be a step backwards to the HL era. Still, looks like it could be interesting in some manner.

At least, it accomplishes what it set out to do, be futuristic.

That does look better than that one screenshot posted in the OP that did look like the HL2 beta with better models :v: Though those pillars and weird roof thing look flat. Very flat. Unless they were meant to be.

The models, textures, and maps all look really fucking blocky and have terrible color. It looks like GoldSrc.

I think the first couple of screenshots look weird because of the lighting on the weapon. If you go to their site they have a comparison of before, which looks like HL1 cause of it, and after they fixed it, which looks better.
I thought this mod was already dead. Oh well.
First of all I want to point a few things out: Our levels aren't small, in fact the screenshots of the level you see are pretty much maxed out of what source allows you to compile. We have other even larger levels where vehicles come into play as well. To make huge levels you need to understand what you're making and what kind of content you need for that (which means not everything can be uber detailed like what you folks may want). I think the balance between quality and quantity is well preserved in what we have and I'm 100% sure that what we have is hands down top quality for your buck (which is free, it's a mod, yaaay...). About the whole thing being blocky and looking like hl1? Let's have a look at a valve game they recently released (which has a huge team and lots of funding, and isn't free): [img]http://www.primotechnology.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/01/ctf_well_2.jpg[/img] Look at that nice prop placement and well detailed walls/room, my god, what was I thinking making this room: [img]http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3385/3340570027_239e09baf7_o.jpg[/img] Also about our weapons, it's still WiP, we are still in development which means things you see in screenshots now might not be fully done yet (and trust me when I say this, we are polishing everything to retail quality, which is why we haven't released yet). Here is how our weapons look like today: [img]http://www.wesleytack.com/upload/phong03.jpg[/img] Lastly, they are not futuristic weapons, they are all real and existing weapons (I thought you CSS people would know your weapons by now?). If you have time for typing out the nice feedback you did here already I'm sure you'll find the time to browse our website and find the news post where we posted all our weapons, which is where you'll see they are not futuristic. I have so much to learn from you guys, I'll be sure to post here again in the future! /me goes back to work on my blocky hl1 mod :p
Well yes, if you use TF2 on minimum textures in the worst possible spot to shoot from it will look worse than the best part or your map. Nevertheless, your mod may be fun and whatnot, but it looks like TFC to me.
Do you have to bunny jump to do everything? Or do you actually have to use tactics? Fast paced? Slow paced?

I'm a terrible modeler and a decent mapper but other than that good job on the mod, i hope it turns out ok.
You guys are jerks, I'm a playtester and this is a quality mod, I even prefer this over NeoTokyo because this WORKS and it's BALANCED and alot of fun to play. Than you are talking about the graphics, most of you guys here make orange maps that are fullbright and than you dare to criticize these screens that are brilliant source mapping work. You don't know these guys that are working on this but they sure have proved themselves already if you do the effort to take a look who is working on this mod. Good job again facepunch, you guys proved yourselves again, 14yr olds that just talk trash.

So which engine is it on, ep1 or ep2? I remember seeing ep1 fire effects in early screenshots but now I see ep2 blood effects.
