• What if G-Man is the real enemy and the combine are trying to fight him?

We've never even got to know G-Man's motives, what if he's trying to destroy the combine (which he seemingly is trying to do) and the combine is enslaving races to fight against him and his companions? For all we know, G-Man could be the leader of the combine's rival faction, like black mesa and aperture on a bigger scale. G-Man has the portal technology and so on, which if the combine had it would be a massive boost against G-Man and his faction. G-Man seems to be able to travel through space and slow down time at will, what if he's been trying to kill the combine for long and contrary to popular belief G-Man is the bad guy and the combine are the guys being pushed to the edge? The combine is seemingly losing the interstellar war, this explains why they wanted the portal technology and why he blew up black mesa. So, what do you people think about this? This also fits with the description about G-Man from the HL2:EP1 site: "sinister inter dimensional bureaucrat." Can someone lock this?
Oh wow, i've never seen someone speculate G-man before. There's been countless threads here and on the steam fourms, i'm sure there's a place dedicated for this type of discussion.

The combine are the good guys, that is why they enslaved an entire planet.

And that would make them good guys how?
And that would make them good guys how?
They're desperate in a losing war. I'll worded it wrong, I'll change it to something else.
What makes you think they're losing this war? I mean, we don't even know half of the Combine full power. All that we know are those forces stationed on Earth nothing else.
He seems pretty ok with you fucking up the combines shit though?
G-Man just has a man-crush on Gordan! He keeps leaving love-letters all over the place but Gordan doesn't even notice! ;-;
G-Man just has a man-crush on Gordan! He keeps leaving love-letters all over the place but Gordan doesn't even notice! ;-;
Go back to your furry section.
The Gman wants Gordon to win, he just does it in unconventional ways.
The G-Man's motives are unknown in my mind, but there's NO WAY he could be with the Combine. The Combine are good guys, they tried to commit genocide under Dr. Breen's rule...
Go bag to your furry section.
Go bag to your english class.
This kinda makes sense
Theoretically possible, although referring to genocidal jackbooted transhumanists as the good guys seems to be a tad ridiculous. In this theory, it would be better to describe the Combine as being the lesser of two evils, with the greater evil being the G-Man/whoever he represents. Of course, this is assuming far more complex approach to plotting and morality than so far has appeared in the series. To be frank, I don't think even Valve know what side the G-Man's supposed to be on.
Yet you fixed your spelling and judged him as a furry huh
So more people don't talk complain or talk about it.
G-Man is a COMBINE. The combine are in a power struggle; the ones that took over the earth are radical right-winged aliens and G-Man, being the complete opposite is using Gordon! It MAKES PERFECT SENSE AND NONE OF YOU CAN DISPROVE ME :byodood:
I don't think even Valve know what side the G-Man's supposed to be on.
A million times this.
Until Episode 3 is released, we shall never know

G-man is too awesome to be evil.
Until Episode 3 is released, we shall never know
We won't even know in Ep3.
G-Man just has a man-crush on Gordan! He keeps leaving love-letters all over the place but Gordan doesn't even notice! ;-;
What.
What.
I was thinking about this thing in Adventure Time. G-Man is the squirrel and Jake is Gordon. I wasn't being serious, jeez...
I knew you weren't being serious,but that wasn't funny and it would be pretty much impossible to tell the reference.
I knew you weren't being serious,but that wasn't funny and it would be pretty much impossible to tell the reference.
It didn't really need a reference. I was just giving you the reason why I was thinking that in the first place.. Talking about G-man sure is serious business!
I think that everyone else in the game is secretly trying to kill Gordon Freeman specifically
