1.6.4, £10 says we are on 1.6.999 by the end of the day
Beta 1.6 was released a few minutes ago. While my server updates I'm checking out the SP.
Boat elevators are completely ruined now.

Finally, can't wait to try out the maps.
Woo! Hopefully the nether in smp now works better than what the bukkit's solution was... doubt it though.

The nether solution that was implemented is the exact solution bukkit used, hopefully Notch built on it though so it's better now. Doubt it..
I don't see the point of a hatch if it's noticeable from a mile away and not level with the ground...
I don't see the point of a hatch if it's noticeable from a mile away and not level with the ground...
it's more of a convenience than a trap.
Fuck sake already found an error, furances throw blocks out, stacking iron igots after crafting them(might be other things too) in your inventory makes them disappear
We're on 1.6.2 now.

For some reason it's maxing out the server's CPU as soon as I connect and goes down to 0-10% when I disconnect. Why?
Has anyone discovered how to get those new tracks? It says that they are playable through a jukebox...
Why is the hatch on the bottom of the block and not the top? :(
* Fixed submerged boats rising very very fast
:saddowns:
Elevators RIP
Well it appears people will now have to make effort in sky islands because a single water block can no longer be used as a cheapskate elevator.
Does Multiplayer Nether have a red sky now?
I keep pressing escape after terraria :argh:
Mushroom spreading and proper ore generation are the most exciting features for me.

I think they can still be used, just not as fast.
So many lighting errors

You can swim up them the normal way but boats are screwed over.
Fuck, my lava blades are not working now

I was hoping for a giant 4 block metal hatch :(

He said it could not be played yet, the notch way.
(Will be hacked in somehow in 2 days)
Goddamnit why can't I make a stone hatch?
I was hoping I could make lava traps :saddowns:

use the flow updater technique

It's not meant to be like right?
I guess I'll just have to keep waiting to update 1.7 for pistons :sigh:
I've been so terribly bored lately and just waiting for new content so I'll have some inspiration to make something cool. I thought pistons would help, and that they would be coming soon.
When I heard that we'd be getting hatches instead of pistons in this update I wasn't extremely disappointed, I thought I would still be able to make water/lava gates which would be very useful for a lot of things like machines/mob grinders/traps/water slides/hidden passages. However then they wouldn't be able to do that, and now the only possibly interesting function I see from this is perhaps for mob traps.
Pistons will be so awesome.
[editline]26th May 2011[/editline]
There are so many bugfixes in 1.6.
I'm 100% sure that 1.7 will have shitload of content.
Good use of trapdoors is to use them as a kind of deployable staircase, has saved me from creepers already and I've only been trying them for about 10 minutes!

Unsure on how well this will work in MP though
Holy hell the servers are taking up a large amount of usage now, what's up with that?

Thats incredibly useful if you have a one way staircase to your house. Just have a lever that controls a set of them so when you need to you can get up and when you need protection you can turn them off.
