A RPG with an immersive story? - Games

I've been playing alot of RPGs lately and i can't seem to find one of my tastes with a good story behind it, can someone suggest a game? Recommendation: list the ones you have played so people can recommend others rather than saying what you've already played

I just got Bioshock from that guy who needed help buying Minecraft. If you haven't played that yet, I would. It's highly atmospheric and the demo doesn't do it justice.

Morrowind.

Knights of the Old Republic.

Paper Mario: The thousand year door. That is, if you have a gamecube/wii. I recently started playing it again (for like the third time now or something) and it actually has quite a good story imo. Not really that immersive, but the gameplay makes up for that. v:v:v

Mass Effect. Really is a good game...

Oh god you've played Gothic 2? I'm so hooked at that game. I thought I was the only one playing it.

[B]Anything[/B] on the Shin Megami Tensei series. They all have good stories, great, unique features, and are incredibly immersive. Disgaea is not very immersive, but still pretty good RPGs. Resonance of Fate have some awesome gameplay, though the story takes quite some time to reveal itself. Also, everyone already said it but [B]Mass Effect[/B], go buy it [highlight]right now[/highlight].

Neverwinter Nights is pretty good, and has a lot of replay.

I thought Red Dead Redemption had a good immersive story but it's not really an RPG though.

Mass Effect HNGGGG

Any of the Dragon Quest games. Not always the most original stories, but always very fairy-tale-esque and heartwarming in a nearly-cheesy-but-not way. Even Dragon Quest IX, in which none of the party's characters talk, has plenty of great little tales.

Will I be able to get used to the first Mass Effect's gameplay after playing Mass Effect 2? I heard it was really annoying.
