This is a new game in the infamous fps series "Wolfenstein" by formerly I.D. Software. Announcement Trailer
Backstory- The New Order is set in 1960 after the Nazis won World War II. Gamers play as the familiar American war hero B.J. Blazkowicz and are tasked with launching an "impossible counter-offensive" against the Nazi powers that have taken over the world. Set in Europe, The New Order will have players infiltrating Nazi strongholds and battling legions of enemies, while taking control of "super weapons" that the Nazis have used to dominate earth--"and beyond."
NEW INFORMATION!
May 8th, 2013 - Wolfenstein is going to be Single Player only! Note: Information is likely to change in upcoming weeks.
Oh my god... YES! :,D
Haha, holy shit, awesome. Despite some, I really enjoyed the last Wolfenstein game. It was simple, yeah, but I loved the feeling of escaping from giant underground Nazi laboratories as they blew up. Also, I'm a huge fan of alternate history. Especially Nazi-related stuff.
Also gotta note this here otherwise people will get confused by the Bethesda thing.
FUN FACT: Bethesda is the PUBLISHER for this game. A Publisher basically funds the devlopers (the acutal team that makes the game) for all the assets required to create a video game in general and then some.
This has been fun facts with Pvt. Martin.
So is this gonna be an old fashioned shooter? Reminiscent of the golden era of the FPS?
This will use IdTech 5 apparently. Interesting. https://twitter.com/ID_AA_Carmack/statuses/331774015872057344
To further the hype, you can play Wolf 3D in your browser! http://www.wolfenstein.com/game_EU.php I hope for good things, 2009 Wolfenstein was a really fun game.
This seems really awesome and promising. The devs are apparently mostly from starbreeze and starbreeze hasn't really made any bad games.
It's like they read my mind... Sometime ago I had this idea of a Wolfenstein game, set after WW2 with technologically advanced Nazis and mechs. And now this. I'm so hyped, man!
Hotness. I knew as soon as Hendrix kicked in we were looking at 60's.

Please for the love of god, don't let the soccer moms stop this from being released because of Nazi's. I want this so bad!
Don't get too hyped up on a cinematic announcment trailer, it could be Aliens colonial marines 2: The outsourced bogaloo from all that we know.
Yes I know. I won't be pre-ordering it. But when it comes out, if it's as good as I hope it will be then I will definitely buy it. It has been too long since Wolfenstein has been in my collection.
I hope they add more of the demonic Nazi creations. I enjoyed 2009 Wolf but it just lacked the semi-pseudo horror aspect i rather enjoyed from RTCW. The closest it came to it was the hospital but that was short lived unfortunately.
So from the quote in the OP I gather we may get a space station or even a moon base? Please say yes.
I'd really like a new proper WWII shooter with huge levels and D-Day and all that shit. Not really interested in another Wolfenstein railshooter. The last one was rather bad. Another Enemy Territory would be nice tho.
Time to reinstall RTCW!
I am incredibly excited for this game but they would be hard-pressed to choose less fitting music, considering AAtW was written in 1967 and associated with Vietnam, pretty far off from Nazi robots in 1960. Here's hoping they preserve the mix of weird science and occult horror that made RtCW so cool.
Nazi War-Mechs :v:

Super excited for this, honestly. Rarely been this excited for a game since Far Cry 3.
it has same kind of atmosphere as Killzone games, which imo is a good thing.
OP updated with new images.
So is this gonna be an old fashioned shooter? Reminiscent of the golden era of the FPS?
Define golden era? Do you mean Doom? Because it was hardly golden. More like the stone age. Corridor based levels, collecting keys. Other games available at the time were simply reskins of doom, or wolfenstein clones (Blake Stone, Aliens of Gold was released after doom and used the Wolf3d engine). Duke Nukem 3D showed some innovation and so did Quake. We didn't really hit the golden age until Half Life 1 & 2 and the entire modding community that evolved from there.
RtCW is my favourite Wolfenstein and I would love for this game to live up to it. Unfortunately I can't say I'm impressed with anything yet. So far it look like a full-on sci-fi shooter, which I really dislike.
Did any of you play RTCW:ET? That game was the shit, the gunplay was really great.

Am I the only one who wants to see a Wolfenstein game done like the original two instead of the FPS Wolf3D turned it in to? [del]You know, those two games that sorta inspired Kojima big time for Metal Gear?[/del] (Eh, I'll have to do a better fact check, I heard it passed around a few times) Or at least some stealth elements?
This looks pretty awesome. The art style and tech remind me a lot of the ROTT remake

[editline]7th May 2013[/editline] also basedthesda has been publishing a lot of dope games recently.
