I've been wondering what people's opinions are on First person or Third person games.
Which do you prefer? First Person (Half-Life 2, Call of Duty, Mass Effect etc.) or Third Person (GTA IV, Red Dead Redemption, Bully etc.)
third person, opens up great options for close combat. but is usually poorly executed.
First person. More immersive.

Mass Effect is Third Person lol
Though I really can't choose, it depends on the game. Platformer-like or freeroam games (GTA, Uncharted, Ratchet & Clank) usually works better in 3rd person, while horror, atmospheric narrative or tactical shooters (Metro 2033, STALKER, Rainbow Six, Half-Life) works better in 1st person. Sometimes they can work both ways and sometimes one is better in one view both gameplay and atmosphere wise. Mostly it comes down to how the game was made.
There are some third-person games that I like but mostly first-person.
I think third person brings out the graphics
Third persons are fun as long as they're single player.
Third person in multiplayer, corner camping. 'nough said.
First person is usually more intense and the player is actually more involved in the actions. Atmospheric games are great.
First Person on PC and Third Person on consoles.
I voted First Person however.
Fallout 3 was spot on because you could choose.
I play mostly in first person, doing missions and shit, but I play in third person doing puzzles and shit and traversing the wasteland.
Depends on the game, one isn't better than the other
What a pointless question. It totally depends on the game.

This. But if the game allows both, I usually go with thirdperson. I like to see my character in relation to the enviroment.
i'd say 3rd person, it adds so much more good looking options on covering, climbing and other simple actions
It depends on the game, but if I can choose ingame I choose third person because I can see more than in first person.
First person, especially in multiplayer because third person gives players the ability to look around corners and that sucks imo.
In general, first person is easier to control, but with third person I can look at how fucking awesome the character looks.
I like how you can choose in FO3 and Oblivion. :buddy:
Same as Stizzles.
I loved Half Life 2 as First Person, it wouldn't work as 3rd, ruining the whole Gordon Freeman character.
Mass Effect and GoW were also great as Third Person, and I probably couldn't see them working in First person.
Depends. First person is good for immersive experiences and games like these should usually have a mute protagonist (Half-Life and Bioshock are good examples). Third person is good when the character is interesting and you do other actions instead of just shooting (Max Payne and GTA are good examples).
It really depends. For action shooters or horror games I prefer first person. For open-world games and RPGs in general I prefer third person.
It vastly depends on the game.
isometric or it depends on the game
52nd person.
You view the events of the game from the end of a conga line.
If a game allows me to customize my character, I would prefer third person as there is no point in doing so unless I can see my customization. However, the most important part is gameplay.
Don't really care.
I like it when you can switch between first and third person (Fallout 3 failed at this).
I found GTA IV better with the first person mod.
I wonder if anyone's made a second person game where you see things through the opponent's eyes. :v:

I wanna see what sims would be like in first person. Like, not the camera that you get when you press tab or whatever, but I mean literally controlling the character with WSAD and the mouse.

I managed to glitch out the sims 2 a while ago and it was like this.
When I went outside and looked down the road it crashed :saddowns:
