• GT5: Boring?

I've heard this several times. But, I want to know why it's boring. It looks fine to me.
Does it matter what other people think of it? Some people find racing games such as GT and Forza boring. I went round a friend's house and played Forza, he'd never played the 'ring cos he thought it was boring and too long.

I really think it depends on what mood you're in. Gran Turismo 3, for example, is a gigantic grindfest in the beginning. It takes a decent amount of patience to get through it.
It's not boring at all. I have no idea where you read this. However, I was playing with someone one day a game called Blur which has powerups and things like that - and the sole reason he liked the game was because of those powerups. He said that normal racing is just boring. Basically, some people might just look for arcade action in nearly every single game - and if it doesn't have such action, it's boring. It really depends on what you like.
Playing with the Logitech GT steering wheel, Gran Turismo 5 is some of the best fun I've had in a while. ... playing with a controller though. I pretty much fall asleep.
@mrkaki: Have a look. Look for a gameplay video with sound and look for the engine sounds, see if you like them. Look after your own opinion, not others'.
I don't think so it's only him. Some have been complaining about the sounds that sounded like vacuum cleaner. About the videos, I've watched all of them.
And yet again, you're only talking about things other people complain about. I'd like to see your opinion.
Does it even matter
Personally I'm not a fan of racing games but if you really want to know how you will personally perceive a game I suggest you download a demo.

I like it, but don't play it (6GB updates with 1GB free space). I fall asleep playing Burnout Paradise more. Holding down R2 for hours on end doesn't appeal to me, especially with Burnout's music. Shame practically no one plays GT5 : P. online when I did, and when I could find a game, it was extremely laggy. Honestly, Live for Speed is probably one of my favourite still, as it had a nice balance of realism while remaining competitive.
The only time I found Forza 3 exciting was playing online in the destruction matches, where you had to total each others cars.
That's the problem with kids these days. They played more FPS games than other genres like racing and RTS.
360 VS PS3, Here we go again.
Opinions, opinions...
Shit's not even out yet, what th'hell?. How do you know if it's boring?. [editline]15th October 2010[/editline]
he'd never played the 'ring cos he thought it was boring and too long.
The Nurburgring? Boring? ok!.
How do you know if it's boring?.
Prologue
Gt5 is for people who have passion for cars, can feel cars, and who can drive them for hours. Picking your favorite car and driving it on the same track and tryng to score your best time...fucking around with your car settings for hours, this is what gt5 is, it's a semi-sandbox game for motorheads..If you find stuff like this boring go play forza or something.
It's boring because you drive in a circle for 2 hours at a time.
It's fun to me.....
It's boring because you drive in a circle for 2 hours at a time.
And thus god created sports games.
Single best Driving Simulator to ever exist period. Kids are too caught up in shit like Need for Speed and Burnout, what we are witnessing is a revolution.
There's some interesting logic going around this thread...
It's boring because you drive in a circle for 2 hours at a time.
No that's nascar.
