This can ether be really cool, or game breaking

Difficulty scaling has been around forever.
Difficulty scaling has been around forever.
Not specifically scaling, but a lack of Difficulty setting.
Some people enjoy just breezing through a game for story, or setting it to be really hard.
Sounds pretty generic, I doubt the difficulty scaling is going to be interesting and releasing shit episodically is irritating as fuck.
Sounds pretty generic, I doubt the difficulty scaling is going to be interesting and releasing shit episodically is irritating as fuck.
Well the general idea was more of system that defined the state of AI in a level. Think of call of duty which is more of a Action shooter in comparison to a Sneaking game like Metal Gear. The difference is apparent what we have designed is a system that depending on the players actions it will pace the level such as the director in L4D depending on each play-style we have coded and tested Stealthy or just general going Rambo it will spawn in more patrols, force the AI to retreat and regroup and each time you will fight different enemies with different loadouts to simulate that someone is actually coordinating them in seeking you out that with communication that the AI talk to each other we hope to make a very compelling game to play and try different styles out. Of course we will add more profiles through development and yes i agree episodic content can be annoying but it allows the dev team to release high quality Section in 2-3 month intervals for free and upon your feedback add new ideas, concepts to latter chapters it allows both parties the consumer and Developer more freedom

You like the serious face i take it?
I don't like the idea of dynamic AI difficulty. I experienced this problem in the Elder Scrolls games, where when I level up, so do the enemies, so any benefits of leveling up are nullified. Same can be said for shooters. If I'm going up against a rag tag bunch of hooligans who've managed to get a hold of a few guns, I'd expect to fare better against them than against an elite special forces unit.

I was considering to pledge too. :/

O yes, we'll have another one up next week we're just lowering the goal amount and rewards including posters etc. Better incentives to support our development.

You mistake when i say AI difficulty I'm not talking about games such as borderlands or even fallout 3. The AI healths would stay the same just depending on your individual play-style and how stealthy you play it would cause the (Leader AI) or detection system to call in backup, retreat or advance depending on how badly you are inflicting causalities or if your just doing horribly it will give you a few chances here and there I.E med-kit or weapons.

Can you explain to me where you'll be spending the money you're asking people to spend?
Previously you asked for $10,000 and now you're only asking for $1,000? That's quite the change and it makes me feel like you have no clue where you're going to spend the money, just that you want some.
I mean, are you saying you're going to pull off the same thing with only $1,000 that you previously needed $10,000 for?
Well it says the uses on the kickstarter simple we decided to aim for a lower goal with better rewards see how it turns out. We weren't going to make 10k it was obvious so we lowered it to ensure we can actually get the money. So why make the same mistake twice not to mention during christmas was a horrible idea to start during

Yes, but how will the money be spent in order to benefit development of the game?
[editline]8th January 2013[/editline]
No point in raising money just for the hell of it.

Simple royalties , website hosting and various other simulation plugins for max various thing. we arent raising money for the hell of it. Do u even understand how expensive game design is from the software to actually funding the team? The Amount of time and deciation it takes to make something of quality? Games aren't made for free they are funded through ones personal times and funds of the team. We realized we had no chance of making the deadline of 10k in 30 days so why wouldn't we set a lower goal so we can work on the parts we require and pay off the people involved in its design that are most important? We're an Indie Studio we don't have majior funding these kind of games take 25 Million dollars or more to fund and we're asking for 1-10 thousand and people are getting mad? I'm sorry but seriously review our kickstarter fund stop jumping to conclusions and let us do our job. We are trying to create something great, something fun not something dull and boring like the call of duty series or battlefields newly yearly copies plan with simply a reskin and a few flashy bells attached ...

No, which is why we are asking specifically where the money is going.

No one is getting mad. I was basically asking you why you asked for $10,000 before, and $1000 now. If you needed $10,000 to make this game work before, then surely $1000 isn't enough without it producing some sort of risks, none of which are mentioned on your kickstarter page.

You mentioned the cost of software, yet you have screenshots in the OP of a supposedly finished, fully textured 3d model as well as concept art implying that you already have most of the software needed for the job.
We're not trying to cause an argument here, we're simply asking for an explanation as to what areas of the games development process will need funding and why. If you're asking us to help fund a game, we have the right to be suspicious as to where we are putting our money.
Yeah, not pledging. People ask a legit question and now we're all mad?
We knew from the start that developing a game is a very tedious and long process and granted with that comes the need for better software. From licensing costs from both the UDK and 3D Modeling software every penny that is donated to our project is 100% used to fund obtaining the latest software or goes in terms of paying licensing for Unreal Engine 3.
As known we do have a considerable amount of promotional and assets that are shown throughout the Development Community we require the support of interested individuals to support our development Studio as we contract out some of the best Animators, Character Artists, Modelers and Sound Engineers all under one founding to create this game. As the funds would also serve as a reserve fund for potential expansions and features such as the planned Coop and Campaign Multiplayer features in the near future.
The Software we use :
3Dmax, Maya, Mudbox and Zbrush and we need it for business licenses, Royalty with epic games and any special voice acting musical components that might arise. its quite varied

Not trying to rant here but you need to get the licence BEFORE kickstarter
there was a tread in the UDK Forums a bit ago about kickstarter and the UDK licence and according to what i read you need to get the licence before any sort of income even if it would be used to just fund the game or buy it
Why are you using Mudbox and ZBrush they both do the same job and I doubt Mudbox is any cheaper than ZBrushes $700 price tag.
You sure do like giving out those thanks you's on your kickstarter
