Old Meets New
NEStalgia is an original MORPG inspired by the glory days of traditional console RPGs. Essentially "Dragon Warrior 3 meets World of Warcraft", NEStalgia is an amalgam of the best generations of RPG gaming.
Players wage classic turn based battles in multiplayer parties while enjoying modern trappings such as a full-featured quest system. Those who prefer to go solo can recruit almost any monster in the game to fight alongside them as they explore every nook and cranny of NEStalgia's expansive 8-bit world.
Close Community
Instead of being an anonymous face in the crowd, you'll play on small scale servers with a friendly and close-knit community of players. In addition to the cooperation-focused PvE experience, NEStalgia offers an incredibly balanced competitive PvP system and regularly hosted server tournaments.
Become 8-bit rich by selling rare loot on the player auction house, and make some new friends by joining or creating a guild. If you plan to partake in NEStalgia's difficult end-game content then you're going to need every bit of help that you can get.
100% Free to Play
NEStalgia is 100% free to play from start to finish. There is no "real money trading" for in-game currency, and the entire game can be experienced without ever paying a dime.
For those who wish to support the game's continued development, NEStalgia offers an optional yearly subscription to enable extra (non-essential) features, such as additional character classes and more ways to customize your character's appearance.
It Gets Better With Age
NEStalgia has grown exponentially since its initial release in 2011 and shows no signs of stopping. The game is constantly evolving and expanding, ensuring that players will always have new content and updates to look forward to.

It used to need BYOND to play, but it's a standalone game now.

We don't have players so we will call ourselves a small close-knit community and pretend it is a good thing.
I just saw this on steam and thought it looked pretty cool. I might try it out.
Looks good, surprised I hadn't heard of it until now.
Voted for this on steam, looks pretty good.

Because it was on BYOND.
This looks good, damn.
Gonna try to get into over the weekend
Honestly the game is pretty fun if you have friends to play with.
Though I can't imagine being able to stand playing this game solo.
Did you know, that any game is fun when you have friends to play with?
I wouldn't say that. Have you ever played The Darkness multiplayer? I can't think of many other games that had such a broken and unfun multiplayer as that.
That game's multiplayer was absolutely horrendous. Oh god.
