Hey guys, to put it bluntly whenever I run Dota 2 my PC crashes in some way. It could be the start up, the main menu, the "learn" tab, or right after I complete a match; but the game always crashes.
This has only happened with Dota 2.
What happens: The screen completely freezes, I cannot alt tab or escape out, and my audio loops. I'm left having to do a hard restart.
I've already tried to:
-Update my graphics card
-Cool down my PC while gaming
-Re install Dota
-Memory Check
All of which could not solve my issue. Any advice?
Verify the game cache, and if it still doesn't work, defragment the game files.
Both can be found in the Steam options of Dota 2.
See if caps lock and the such can be toggled on or off after the freeze, also does the monitor turn off too ?

Sorry about the late reply, but the monitor remains on, just a frozen picture and looping audio.

And what about the toggleable keyboard lights ?
What are your specs?
Once again sorry about the late reply.
Not so sure about the lights, I will post about those in a bit.
Specs:
OS: Win 7 64bit
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU ~ 750 quad core 2.67 GHz
RAM: 4GB
Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560
DX: 11
Forgive the 6 day late reply, but this happened to me with most of my games once. Turns out my HDD was failing and I needed a new one. Do a SMART scan on your HDD just to make sure.
To fx this issue I would suggest to Change Texture Settings:
The texture settings need to be rechecked. Improper values in the game settings cause DOTA 2 crash. Here are the new settings that you have to apply:
- Open the game.
- Click Settings | Video | Advanced.
- Set Low Texture.
- Set High Render Quality.
- Click the Save Settings button.
- Restart the game.
If issue still exists then open this tutorial for further solutions:

HAHA ZINGER.
Except if somebody googles this or has a similar issue, then that might be the fix.
That post is weird, it sounds like a standard reply from a tech support assistant but in the wrong place (and time).
But hey, good point with:

but you're from Egypt? Holy fuk
dang it
I had a really strange problem similar to yours - I had BSODs from sitting in Dota 2 menu. I remedied it by watching spectator games as soon as I launch the game - when I am ingame spectating or playing, it works flawlessly, but not in the menu.
ah fuck seriously, 2012?
