So I installed the 1.4 patch for Far Cry but when I start it up it freezes on splash screen. I want to play a Far Cry mod that requires that patch.

I think the only thing you should know is that I have 64-bit OS. If you need more, just tell me.
This is an issue that I've never found out how to fix 100%. Unfortunately for some reason Far Cry doesn't like Vista or Win7 or newer video card drivers very much. I believe it has something to do with what graphics settings you choose, start at low and ramp your way up and see if that fixes it.
I would also crash on the splash screen and when it didn't crash the mouse wouldn't work so I couldn't play anyway.
Tried to do it on lowest possible setting and nothing happened. I think i'll just give up.

Guys here comes the fix:
If you have fresh installed Far Cry, patch it to 1.4
Then use compatibility mode for Windows XP SP2 then run the game.
It will freeze but wait until it unfreezes.
Result: It will never freeze again at this moment.
Now it freezes at level loading. :argh:
