So F1 2013 has been released, and the big talking point is the addition of the 'Classics'
1980's Classic F1 cars & Drivers with an additional add-on for Steam users for a 90's pack and a classic tracks pack
Along with tweaks and improvements on F1 2012
Now I have not given the game a full run in yet, I have just had a few hours of racing so I will not go into any in-depth review, I shall just leave it for peoples opinions
But my opinions so far are as follows:
The basic menu layouts etc have changed very little so if you were used to F1 2012 this won't seem much different
The driving feeling is a lot different, the 2013 cars seem a lot more stable and predictable than the cars of F1 2012 - (Some will prefer it, some won't)
Graphics wise, IMO I prefer 2012 from what I have seen, my opinion may change with time but 2013s scenery feels a bit more 'cartoony' than 2012 and as such less realistic
The classic cars are somewhat of a handful if you don't have a controller with progressive throttle (like myself who has a steering wheel but throttle are break are button paddles) as a result any time your in 1st or 2nd and try to accelerate you bounce of the limiter for a few moments and the back of your car makes a graceful effort to overtake you. Full traction control at least makes it very easy to correct it and keep the car straight but still has a damaging result on your overall pace
Multi-player is much improved though, I have yet to witness a single lag bubble, even when riding on board with other cars it feels lag free which is fantastic news
The penalty system is still a massive race ruiner though, I have already been given 3 times penalties on different occasions because of someone else's driving (once they braked on a straight as I was slip streaming, twice was them trying to push me off the road whilst overtaking on a straight and I had to turn against it to keep on the track, and number three was them not braking for a hairpin as I was turning, flying straight past me and their rear wheel catching my nose on the way past) Really hope they alter it or scrap it
Sum up for my take on the game so far - A good improvement over 2012 but still not where it should be for my liking, some will take to it quicker and better than others

Wow I used to love these games years ago, didn't realise they were on Steam. Will definitely pick this up when I have the money for it
