• [Machinima Series] Bashcraft: The Legend of Hobo - Episode One "Who are you?!"

Being a fan of Facepunch, I thought I'd share our teams latest work that has to do with Minecraft. We're filming a series in the spirit of Minecraft that I think you guys would enjoy. This is the first episode in an ongoing series that follows the reluctant hero known as Hobo. Among the legends, his tale is one of the greatest. Join Hobo in this odyssey to look deep into himself, figure out who he is, and try to avoid catching on fire every five seconds.
Wow, this is amazing. Keep up the good work!
Wait, whos fucking Steve?
Wait, whos fucking Steve?
Name given to the default skin.
Wait, whos fucking Steve?
Steve is the generic, unskinned avatar that you get before you change your characters skin. The Minecraft community named him "Steve" quite a while back, and for some reason it stuck. So during that scene his skin vanished and he became the default skin "Steve".
That was awesome, good job.
This is fantastic, really well done. If you ever need a voice for a deep voiced villain (Think Dr. Claw) let me know.
this made my day, I hope there's more to come of it
this made my day, I hope there's more to come of it
We are already hard at work on Episode 2! Thanks for watching! Glad you guys enjoyed it!
that was actually really well done and funny. keep it up!
Thanks for the kind words, we're actually in the middle of shooting episode 2 while I'm typing this. We've also tried to submit it to the Official Minecraft forums, but for some reason the submission keeps getting deleted. We've tried about nine times at this point, and we're not sure why it keeps getting deleted. We'd love to show our hard work to a larger audience, and we're not actually sure how to properly show the Minecraft community. This community is awesome though, we've had no problems here. That's why I love Facepunch!! You all rock.

Very different, in a good way.
Wow, that's really awesome! Just wondering, how did you get the GLSL shaders (the waving plants and trees) to work in 1.7? Or did you guys record this in a supported version of the game?
I'd love to help if you guys need it, I've got a bit of voice acting experience (think a bunch of one-liners)
Hey guys, thanks again! We got featured on Digital Diamonds so thanks to all our supporters! http://www.minecraftforum.net/news/155-digital-diamond-bashcraft/#comments Hooray! As we move forward with episodes we'll be putting out casting calls and job postings for more positions we need, so be sure to sub to us so you can keep up with the series!
I love the burn effect on the skin.
Reminded me a tad of IWBTG with all that burning.
Hey Bash it's Drakortha. Congrats on your Digital Diamond feature, you earned it mate.
Aha, that was amazing. Keep up the good work!
it's good, but you really don't need censor bleeps
it's good, but you really don't need censor bleeps
Without censors, hurts some people. With censors, hurts no one. Besides, the censors make it even more funny in our opinion. I'm glad you enjoyed it none-the-less.
it wouldn't hurt anyone at all. but it does make it seem funnier
It was funny. The landscape is very pretty and the tree is also good looking. The burnt elf skin was very nice, but maybe a bit burnt hair to the skin. Not really a criticism but you could of added "Penguins" full name as a joke.
the burning lake was a nice twist.
Bashcraft? Isn't that the Game Journos are Incompetent FUCKWITS nickname for Brian Ashcraft of Kotaku?

I'm glad you enjoyed it none-the-less.
Yeah, I think the censors make it funnier. I don't like blunt swearing, it makes everything seem a little too real.

I think you should be more careful with where you're filming from. A lot of angle changes don't actually make sense and it's quite hard film-wise to follow what you're trying to show. Try to use a line and don't cross it(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/180_degree_rule). Another basic is to try and follow the rule of thirds(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rule_of_thirds) to make your movie feel more film-like. Adding a vignette and colourcorrecting your video should also make it feel more film-like though don't overdo it because then it'll look very unprofessional. edit: I'm giving you these tips because I like the premise and concept of the first episode, just trying you to help improve :)
