I'm sure that a lot of people here enjoyed the diablo games as much as I have, so as a homage to it, I've created a diablo themed dungeon map.
This is unlike anything you've seen before with what people called "dungeons". No, this is what you call a [i]dungeon[/i].
Full on, 8 floors deep, 100x64, changing level themes, side quests, and god knows what else lies in this thing. I spent roughly 2 months making this thing because I was too lazy to download something other than invedit and built the thing the semi-legit way, dug out block by block. Another way to demonstrate the time put into this would be the fact that it takes on average 8 hours to carve out a single level, 8 hours to replace the floors, wall and ceilings with whatever was appropriate, and 4 hours to decorate it with lighting, traps, treasure, decorations and [b]and so many BARRELS.[/b]
The entire map follows the classic diablo 1 feel, starting with the defiled dungeon/crypt for two levels, then the ancient catacombs, then the hot caves, then hell itself. It's [i]HIGHLY[/i] recommended that you play the correct songs alongside the game to make it feel even more like diablo itself. You should also seriously consider using a map to find your way around, or just try to get from one side of the floor to the other while searching for the stairs.
There's also a few side quests you can look for, these are the Water Supply, Arkaine's valor, the Chamber of Bone, and the Anvil of Fury, though the first one isn't very useful.
It's disappointing that this map has never become all too popular, I hope I can get some constructive criticism from you guys to improve on the design if I ever come back to such a monstrous task.
For all of you guys that have been wanting to play diablo again but don't want to torrent it (shouldn't it be free by now?), here's your fix.
