• Having some trouble with dota 2 importer

Hi all, Im having this issue, where I'm importing my drow item into dota 2 via the submission page, and the problem is that the normal map which I have is not having any effect on the item. Literally, it does nothing. I have all 4 textures ready in a folder, the color map has some basic colors and the normal map i generated from xNormal. I tried both exporting as jpg and png, then converting to tga but it does not make a difference. I asked around for some help, and some suggestions which i tried but had no luck : * Import the jpg/png into vtfedit and convert to tga from there * Add more detail to normal map, as a more experienced modeler suggested (I sort of faked this, i just drew over the normal which i had with colors imitating the depths) Additional information: Lod 1 Poly - 400 tris, .SMD Lod 0 Poly - 560 tris, .SMD Texture - Color map, with basic colors, no fine details have been added yet, all textures were made directly into 256x256 (Mask 1 and Mask 2 are just black images of 256x256) UV - Lod 1 has a different UV's than Lod 2, but both are displaying the color map properly. Softwares - Softimage 2013 (meshes), Zbrush (high poly), Gimp, xNormal (normal map/height map to convert into normal map in jpg/png/tga) I've tried many things but im unable to get the normal map to display properly on the item in the preview pane. I need this to check how my normal map looks on the model in game. Please note that im a newbie to this, so the reason for my troubles could be something very basic. To that end, please do not assume anything. Thanks.
Do you think you could provide a screenshot of the preview item, the normal map, as well as the regular color map?

Does your normal map by chance have anything in it's Alpha channel?
I tried both with Alpha channel and without alpha channel. When it has an alpha channel, all i see is white on the alpha channel there, whilst the other channels have diffferent gray versions of my normal map. [editline]8th November 2013[/editline] P.S Sorry for late replies and, if you want me to try anything (like normal with/without alpha, again), just let me know. Thanks
I don't remember which mask it is, but one of them has a self-illum channel for it's alpha channel. Make sure that isn't all white.
mask1 and mask2 both had full white alpha channels (normal/color did not). I tried to remove the white or change it to black. Didnt work so i just removed alpha channels for both. Result is same after importing.
Bump.
Anybody? Bump.
