I have been looking for a good free MMORPG but so far they have all sucked. Ive only tried a few but the ones i have tried are Archlord, Fiesta, Rappelz, Cabal Online, Zera and runescape which i hated the most. Please help me
Turn based - Atlantica Online (Alright PVP too) Best WoW Clone - Runes of Magic (PVP is alright but cash shop dependant unless you're willing to work your ass off) Soon - Dungeons & Dragons 2D - Dungeon n Fighter Group based - Pandora Saga (Really slow solo, somewhat resembles FFXI) Honourable mention Mabinogi (US Only but EU can play the TW version and someone is in the process of an English patch)
You know why they suck? Because they're free.
Wurm Online is free to a point. You can get your skills up to 20 on the free world anyways.
My best bet would be Dungeons & Dragons once it's free.

I hear good reviews of it

Perfect World is free if you don't want to get Gold on it for special items. You can also get married in it. I don't play it anymore but I would give it the good rating of 9/10
FlyFF was fucking awesome and anarchy online was pretty cool too. give those a shot.
FlyFF is actually fun? It looks like a babies game to me =/
I played Anarchy Online, but it was too complicated to be fun. It has more of a learning cliff than a learning curve. Runescape is childish, oversimplified, and even cheesy at times, but it's good if you're really bored. Evony's all kinds of messed up. I've heard good things about Runes of Magic.
Mabinogi Heroes when it comes out. (It's based on the Source Engine)
Anarchy Online is great, the learning curve isn't THAT bad, but you can't just start it up and play without reading the manual or some guides.
~Anarchy ~Ultima Online shards ~Second Life These are the ones I actually enjoyed.
RF online I'm playing it now, see you in Owen server http://playrf.com/
Rohan Blood Feud is pretty fun. http://www.playrohan.com/ Or you could buy WoW at a store and play on a private server.
Dofus and Wakfu bitches! Made by the same company. Wakfu takes place 1000 years after Dofus, but it's in beta only for the french, blah blah blah. You can still get it, althought not everything is translated. Dofus http://www.dofus.com/en Wakfu http://www.wakfu.com/en Play them. Play them now.
Rohan Blood Feud is pretty fun. http://www.playrohan.com/ Or you could buy WoW at a store and play on a private server.
Or you could download WoW over the internet and play on a private server
Or you could download WoW over the internet and play on a private server
Why would you want to do that? You can't play with your friends that have the real deal.
My best bet would be Dungeons & Dragons once it's free.
This. It's free, you can reach level cap and experience the majority of the content on a free account, but if you pay the monthly Sub ($15) you get ALL the content, the Monk and favored soul classes, the two locked Races, and 500 Turbine Points PER MONTH free that you can spend in their store No worries though, all that can be bought with Turbine points which you can earn by just playing the game anyway, but if you get addicted, go ahead with the Sub, well worth it, and the game isn't even live yet September 9th for Free Users, September 1st for Subscribers
Why would you want to do that? You can't play with your friends that have the real deal.
None of my friends have the real deal, so I can play :D
Or you could download WoW over the internet and play on a private server
Oh. I thought you still had to buy the disks. Stupid me.
Why would you want to do that? You can't play with your friends that have the real deal.
or you could be a cheap chinese cunt and be a gold farmer
Voyage Centruy FTW XD
I know watching videos and crap it looks fucking stupid.. But flyff isn't all that bad. I mean sure, it's basically just one huge fucking GRINDFEST (there are quests, but their basically non-existant aka not worth doing) and some more GRINDING for cash and equips.. But go past that and it kills time. Not great, but I had fun with it. I think maybe cause I had a cool guild, and knew some people who helped me out.. First characters can be horrid. Oh and if you play RESEARCH EVERYTHING. Or else you may have to start over. That means builds, what skills to put pts into everything.
Perfect World.
2D - Dungeon n Fighter
beat em up awright.
Rumble fighter? The game is pretty fun, but the community is made up of weaboo white-knighting pre pubescent faggots. But, the point of the game is to beat other people up, so, there you go.
Lineage 2 is a good game. But you must search for a private server!
The best MMO for me that follows the old formula is definitely Mabinogi, it's gotta a huge amount of really cool things to add to the tired boring WoW style. Plus the skill system is more like TES, which is pretty cool. In general though I'd say Vindictus over anything out there right now - I've definitely had more fun playing it than any other MMO (free or paid) that's ever been out. If you're tired of the incredibly boring "click -> mash skills while your avatars flail at each other" combat system it's the one you wanna try. EDIT: Crap, didn't realize this was a 200 year old thread that GR bumped, my bad
