Considering starting my own Minecraft server, what do people want?

So I recently acquired a decent VPS (40GB HDD, 1TB Bandwidth, 1.2GB Ram) and wish to host a minecraft server, however I wish for it to seem appealing to the general public.

What type of mods/game modes/etc would YOU like to see on a minecraft server?

(Ram on my VPS is upgradable cheaply so I wouldn't say memory is a restriciton).

I want a Minecraft RP Server with a protection mod that violently teleports you away any time you enter another persons house.

No bukkit, but have LWC for chests (if that)
Use zeplin mod when it comes on SMP, but try not to oversaturate it with fucking mods. I hate it when servers do that.

Try to have it fully legit and consider having it PVP based.

Oh come on. Do we really need more minecraft servers?

But if you insist listen to your gut. Keep the game as simple and vanilla as possible with some interesting mods to keep people interested. Thats how you do it. No towny, no fucking fail factions and keep the LWC because people don't like being cheated out of their items.

PVP would be interesting.

A good Minecraft server only has the Bukkit essentials. Keep it simple.

The spawn wouldn't be navigable. Anyway, just a vanilla server with LWC would do well. Having minecart mania and such just makes things too complicated for a building game.

This. Look how popular 2b2t is. Except 2b2t is complete anarchy. On yours ban hackers, spammers, and people that lag the game by flying. Then you truly have vanilla anarchy.
