More reason for me to buy a Vita then. Since I mostly play handhelds at home anyway, being able to play my PS3 games without hogging the TV would be pretty nifty.

Vita and PS3 together works out at about the same price as an mid range computer.

Although now that I think about it, I'll probably hold off buying it until there's a CFW for it.

First gens are often the easiest to crack so you can probably expect to see CFW within a month of its release.
Also if you have a bunch of games you like on the PSP, don't get rid of it. AFAIK the Vita will not have backwards compatibility due to its new media drive.
I hope the touch screen and the gyroscope on the vita are optional, I don't want to be that kid flailing around a little black box to kill a dude.

I imagine it won't be much different than the PS3 controls. How often are you throwing your controller to kill a guy? Most notably for myself would be Killzone 2 where you actually move the controller to turn wheels and such.

CFW ruined the psp, if their is CFW, it wont sell

I think in a uncharted preview for the vita showed gyroscope aiming with a sniper scope.
you can use the vita as a handheld btw, so this makes it better than wiiU by far.

CFW brought homebrew to the PSP. Honestly, there is a huge lack of impressive titles for the PSP as it stands, and I use mine for media, nothing more.

I remember something about this when the PS3 was launched
It says nothing about current games using it, only as a added screen - not playing games exclusively on it, and the PSP already has this functionality (as does the DS and Wii), if I remember correctly.
Maybe this one will have remote play that actually works.

CFW is kind of why there are little to no games that are any good on the PSP, it made it far, far too easy to pirate things. Look at what happened when the PS3 got CFW, they had a blank slate to learn the Cell, and make some really amazing things.

It is, they said that in one of the Uncharted preview, Hideo Kojima also stated that in his interview.

Not exactly the same as the Wii U, the graphical capabilities will be inferior to the Wii U's, most games will probably not take advantage of the Vita's capabilities unlike the Wii U which comes with the controller, the screen is smaller, it wouldn't have the multiplayer capabilities that the Wii U was shown to have with the E3 tech demos, etc. etc.
Not to mention that we don't know the range at which they would function.

I agree that backup managers did in fact ruin everything for any system, however I was talking purely of homebrew. For the most part if game consoles supported homebrew from the get go they wouldn't have these issues [i]as badly[/i]. They'd still have people trying to hack it but as long as the homebrew required authorization from the company first they can at least filter out the shit (improving homebrew quality) and keep a closer eye on illegitimate hacks. Updates can be made to block these hacks and any legit owner will avoid these hacks.
And face it, if anyone wanted to hack their systems for illegitimate reasons, they'll find a way. There is nothing you can do to stop it. So there is no point in trying. But it doesn't mean you can't support the homebrew community.

You can't use hackers as an excuse for poor PSP titles because it's the companys who have failed the consumers by making shitty games in the first place. So PSP owners said, "okay well these games suck, might as well hack my system since there is no point in updating it."
