And unfortunately, unlike today's world editor's with the "//undo" reminder, you didn't even know that command existed.
I'm not going to lie, I've done something like this before, and didn't eve know "//undo" was a usable command.
So not only have I been on my knees suffering the fact that I [B]was[/B] World Editors bitch, but I've had to spend a few hours repairing my mess. Did I also mention there wasn't a 500 Block Changing limit(<- Which I still think is lame)? So, even though World Editor was the BOSS, of course you/I ended of being...

Actually I've gotten better at World editing. After you test out a command, and if you understand it's affect on the environment, then everything gets a lot easier.
On a server I'm on, some guy was worldediting for someone who didn't have permissions for it, and then the worldeditor tp'd away to do something else and forgot to change one of the points from the last place he was, and deleted half the map and crashed the server.

Yeah but I didn't do that, I made it so 20 layers below were just stone, so there wasn't going to be random patches of sand below dirt, and then I made 2 layers of dirt, and then replaced the top layer of dirt with grass for a grassy biome.
It's a lot more than just doing '/replace sand grass'

But 1.8 doesn't really look mysterious, the features shown have already had Notch/Jeb explain them, it's a massive content update, if you can't figure that out then you should get your brain checked out.

I'm a fucking self-proclaimed master at worldedit. For large scale terraforming use //Brush sphere 0 5 in combination with //brush smooth 5 and //mask & //Mat & /size.

MC Edit is for designing for detail really, other such tools like VoxelSniper and WorldEdit are for bigger projects like terraforming.
