So what is this idea I've got? Thank you for asking! I was bored one day and I made a map, and then I expanded upon it. And now it's almost ready to ship! The premise is simple, the mod has several outcomes and is an experiment in a less linear map than a typical fps game, and well, I don't really have so much clue to if it's that fun to play all I know is if I go around that corner a stalker will rape my ass. And I find that at least somewhat amusing. So what's the story you ask?

You wake up in a locked storage room. In what used to be a military hospital. It was used by rebels as a safe house after the combine came to power. The rebels had sealed the place up and were living off supplies hidden around the area for quite some time. Until one day when a breach was made in the main room of the rebel camp, the sick bay. The combine flooded the camp with headcrabs to kill the rebels inside. Some time after the attack the combine dispatched a clan of stalkers into the rebel base to extinguish any remains of life. And this is where you come into the story.

And now for some visual content, I put together a quick trailer demonstrating some of the areas of the mod. Just to give a hint about the mood of everything without having to spoil the content. Hope it's tasty, also, I might need like 1 model, yeah I know the thread titel but fuck it, anyone willing to give a helping hand? ( Again ironic, what I need is a new set of hands since the hev suit looks quite out of place) Cheers
That actually looks pretty good.
I actually started laughing at the Troy McClure joke.
Very boring video, 20 second intro come on...
You wake up in a locked storage room.
I stopped reading here. To be fair your mapping skills are very decent but you have to work on the story a little more. Because this "You wake up in..." thing is the biggest cliche in video game history since rescuing the princess ( I should know because I was a part of the FPSC community (god help me) 2 years ago and every single plot started with this sentence.)

Yeah the story aint really important, it's just what has happened before to make some sense of the area, it is not discussed in the game it's only there to make the level design make sense. And well that thing about waking up, it just seemed like a sane way to start the game tbh. Meh I might change it though seeing as how everyone seems to hate the guts out of it! Hmm... How does this sound? "You have been in exile for approximately 2 weeks. They, your friends put you away after you seemingly turned mental. They locked you away in a storage room, hoping to never see you again since you were hurting the security of the rebel camp. They succeeded partly, seeing as how they never saw you again, but you saw their ROTTING BODIES AND FLESH OF OH MY GOD" sorry I'm in a rush hence the crappy ending but it's a start, better?
How about you make the game based on finding out how you got locked up to begin with? Your character wakes from a coma, locked in a bleak, drab storage room. His arms show serious signs of drug overdose, and you cannot recall what happened prior to waking up. You go off on a journey to regain your memory, each clue unlocking a small flashback as to what happened prior to waking up in the locker. Since it takes place in the Half-Life universe, make it about betrayal; your fellow rebels did something to you go gain something for themselves. Try working from there.
I read the whole thing in Troy Mcclure's voice.
How is this going to work with team fortress? looks like more of a half life mod Edit: My bad, I thought this was in the team fortress thread
But the title says you won't need help.
Sfc3 the title is a spoof of another thread. Also I've been doing some great progress with the feedback I've gotten here! I'm thinking seriously of adding flashbacks, will decide upon that tomorrow. Also I've added quite a few new custom textures and have also been fixing some scripted sequences that add quite a neat and psychedelic effect to the experience. Will be able to show of some new stuff tomorrow morning. :) Also how difficult is it to add a movie into the game? Like those in the Portal 2 elevators, never done it myself but thought it would fit in brilliantly at one point in the game and would be a brilliant way to tell some of the new backstory.
I think you can only have in-game movies with the Portal 2 engine.
Whats the name of the song/tune played?
