We’ll be celebrating the community, celebrating the release of the full version of Minecraft, doing competitions, listening to interesting people talk, and just generally having a great time. Tickets are 99 dollars if you buy them before October.
In other marketing news, we finally got Steve Heads for sale! http://mojang.com/2011/08/12/new-merch/

100 bucks seems a tad much. Considering you have to throw in plane tickets and hotel prices on top of that.
100 dollars to have a chance to eat with a guy for about an hour.
Take my money
Is it worth going to? I dont want to shell out $100 and a plane flight just to go sit at a hotel and talk to neckbeards about the solid gold penises we have constructed on our front lawn. (I'm not the only one, right?)
Gold penises? Boy, that's minor league.
Here, we build 30 feet cock and balls out of BEDROCK
deep down my mind is telling me that this will just be a gathering of socially awkward nerds.

But, that's every game convention :v:

Why Vegas?

And from the "about" section:
MINECRAFTERS WILL ENJOY
Costume contests
Jesus Christ
I'm sure those bumper stickers will get mistaken by those who are unfamiliar with Minecraft for "I brake for censored penis"
omg fun and activies roflcopter creeper cake hahahahaha this is so much fun to be in haha this is so worth the 500-1000 USD I may or may not have spent to go man wow
no
100 bucks seems a tad much. Considering you have to throw in plane tickets and hotel prices on top of that.
It's 99
I don't see what spending 99 dollars could be worth here. I mean on one hand if you are very dedicated to the game and the community then maybe this is a thing you'd like to do, but there isn't very much along the lines of incentives to make people want to come, for such a large amount of money.
And I dread to see how much the tickets will be after October.

Come on, a ticket to Blizzcon or even Comic Con is half of that.

Not paying £60 to go to Las Vegas and "hang around" with the community
Seems ridiculously overpriced tbh.. $50 would be reasonable.
The community sucks. Why would I want to go see them in person?
In before a bunch of 12 year olds shows up
With their mothers.
What's wrong with that?
Not going to pay €1500 just for a plane ticket there, get a hotel for a lot of money too, and then pay €70 to get a ticket to the actual minecon.
Can't go.
Guess why.
I wouldn't go, even If I lived there.
Can't go.

Your mummy won't take you?
Why would you have a convention for a game that isn't even out yet? It's not even popular enough to warrant a convention.
$100? Fuck, you better be feeding these people a lobster dinner, give them several copies of Minecraft, and all around treat them like kings if tickets alone are $100.

the game gets released at the convention
