• Steam account suspended for buying games

I have no idea what's going on but lately I've purchased quite a few games Call of Juarez - The Cartel Skyrim (obviously) Hard Reset Deus Ex Human Revolution RAGE From Dust Nuclear Dawn Modern Warfare 3 and Dead Island I also have £5,598 worth of steam games on my account and had steam since 2004, I've had 2 or 3 games gifted to me by friends but nothing recently, My computer is ALWAYS kept spotless, I am wired directly to a modem (the modem doesn't have wireless functionality as it is JUST a modem), Virus checks are done every night (i put it on to scan before i go sleep), same with Spyware and malware, ALL of my software is genuinely purchased (it's for work) and my passwords are different for every account (even here). I also have that new security thing activated on Steam so if someone tries to login elsewhere I'd know about it I've NEVER cheated in any game not even in single player, i once had to read part of a walk-through for a really tough adventure game but that's about as far as I had gotten. I bought these games early last week, sot he funds have cleared, I called the bank just in case and they have told me that all the funds have gone through and cleared (I don't use Paypal) I can't figure out what I've done wrong, no one has logged into my account, Now I have to go call up the bank and reverse ALL of those funds which means I have to buy the games retail or direct download them. Lesson learned, DO NOT buy games on steam, now I can't play any games as I've always used Steam [editline]8th September 2011[/editline] Obligatory image: (User was banned for this post ("This isn't a Steam support section. Otherwise it will never get unlocked.
With the mass transactions it's likely that Steam might have thought your account or billing information might have compromised and as such they have temporarily suspended your account. Also check if your payments did fail. Talk to Steam support and they will assist you. This happened to someone before and they got the issue fixed.
Make sure you don't contact support either, fuck STEAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That looks like some of your payments failed. I don't know how you paid for the games, but if you used PayPal and they pulled chargeback then this stuff can happen.

Oh alright then. Then it's some security measure that you should discuss at Steam support.
Bad reading back please garry.
It isn't anywhere in the post.
wtf is this shit there's no link to contact Steam support on the page that link sends me to, what am I supposed 2 do? [editline]8th September 2011[/editline] u killed my automerge
This happened to me too yesterday what is up
It's a sign that steam is probably not the best place to buy your games, and to direct download them and install/play them the old way

Na I don't think its that, the image to me looks like he took a steam suspended notice and pasted it on there, seeing as it has artifacts compared to everything else
-nevermind-
I feel for you You need to contact support and tell them you've made those purchases yourself. I remember when I gifted too much my card was rejected. Although this was multiple gifts, not 1 mass of a hundred games
Steam has always suspended accounts when "unusal behavior" occured (as in buying more games, especially happens during sales), a simple confirmation with SUpport should handle that. One thing I had happen once, was that someone calimed that someone stole his steam acc and gifted me a game with it (Even tho it was still the same person...) and did a chargeback, so about 3 months after release my account was still suspended and the game removed.
It's a sign that steam is probably not the best place to buy your games, and to direct download them and install/play them the old way
Yeaaaah...no.
It's a sign that steam is probably not the best place to buy your games, and to direct download them and install/play them the old way
I still firmly believe that Steam is the best digital game provider and your inability to contact support has not changed my opinion.
Account suspensions are never random. Just contact Steam support and try to clear it up. If you try to reverse your payments they will NEVER unsuspend you.
It's a sign that steam is probably not the best place to buy your games, and to direct download them and install/play them the old way
WAAAAH THEY SUSPENDED MY ACCOUNT I HATE YOU STEAM YOU SUUCK!1!!! *cry*
At first I felt sympathy for the OP, then he decided to start saying that the fact that Steam is attempting to stop account theft and people being charged for games they didn't buy so he immediately blames Steam, saying it's not a very good service because he's too much of a lazyass to spend 5 minutes contacting Steam Support.
Steam typically suspends accounts because they tend to buy too much stuff at once They do this to prevent people from abusing credit cards they don't own All you got to do is prove to steam support that they are your credit cards.
Just write to Steam Support, jeeze.
Considering you just bought 9 games within a relatively short time of one another and spent somewhere around $500 in that time, it doesn't surprise me that Steam would see that as suspicious. The obvious solution is to contact Support, verify that you did in fact buy the games and work it out. But I think your solution of retracting all those purchases, saying fuck Steam, and essentially throwing away $9,000 worth of games (Jesus Christ) is a good idea too.
The reason they have pissed me off so much is there was no email, they've given no reason and they've not responded to my email
The reason they have pissed me off so much is there was no email, they've given no reason and they've not responded to my email
be patient.. they have other tickets too. you're not the only one with a problem.
The reason they have pissed me off so much is there was no email, they've given no reason and they've not responded to my email
Be nice, supportive and give it time for them to receive and respond to your email. Surely you can live for a few days without Steam? Which brings me onto my next quote
It's a sign that steam is probably not the best place to buy your games, and to direct download them and install/play them the old way
If you're freaking out this much then it's also possibly a sign you should probably go outside once in a while.
He is right tho, Steam's messages and official intel is shit, further pointless is disabling the whole account.
Don't make a thread and involve everyone unless you've written to Steam Support and they really can't help you. Most of the people here had the same idea that you bought too much in one period and thought that someone else was abusing your purchases, so simply write a ticket and it'll be over soon. It hasn't even been a day and you're already impatiently complaining that there's no response- give it time. Also, the fact that Steam disables accounts for too many purchases is indeed pissy but it also goes to show Steam goes to extra measures to ensure your account is safe. The only thing you need to do is to write to Steam Support and you're done. Nothing to cry over about they just want to make sure your account wasn't stolen and someone's shitting with your credit card.
