Today, i decided to play some just cause 2. I started it up and loaded my save. What follows is typical gameplay, shoot guys, crash an airplane into somebodys fruitstand etc. I then got into a police chase. After hi-jacking a helicopter mid air and flying into a field, i waited for my heat to go down. Once i was in the clear, i decided to get in a truck and run people's cars over. However, when i returned to the highway, there was nobody there. No cars, no military, nothing. Confused, i called in a motorcycle from the black market and set out to find a truck.
I spent atleast 15 minutes just driving down the highway looking for a vehicle, a person or SOMETHING until i came across a statue. Of course, i sent my motorcycle flying into it and it crashed down, giving me some heat instantly. But, to my dismay, nobody came. The heat left as fast as it came. I called in another bike and kept on driving.
I drove from one half of the main island to the other half, and found not a single vehicle. At first i figured it was because of all the military stuff around, so nobody spawned here, but once i got to the other side of the island, i knew something was wrong.
I drove past one of those military checkpoints, you know the ones that have the old car with 3 people being arrested with the 1 military jeep with the gunner? Nobody in the jeep, no people being arrested. I figured there MUST be some npcs somewhere in this map, right? I stopped once i came to a military airport, one that was only 66 percent completed as i never bother picking up the crates that are all over the place. And again, there was nobody there. Not in the towers, not just patrolling around, nobody. there wasnt even planes taking off like there usually is. I stole a fighter plane from one of the hangers and took off. After a long time of low flying along the highway, i eventually came to the airport. I then jumped out of my plane and it crashed into the woods. I landed next to the twin gas-stations down the street from the airport. Nobody there. There is ALWAYS somebody at a gas station, always. I grapple-chute my way to the airport roofop, when suddenly the "Panau Radio" Icon appears in the top right corner and i hear the classic music cue. This is what the radio said: "Today, the panau airport experienced some violent happenings. Several dangerous foreign terrorists appeared at the airport, and all exploded, taking with them several panau in-officials." I shat myself when i heard this. Why? I didn't do any missions related to the airport on that save, or any missions at all recently. I finally hopped in a plane, crashed it into a tree and killed myself, hoping that the continue game button would fix everything.
Luckily, it did. I started seeing cars and people all over again. I then shut off the game and came to facepunch to post this. No way in hell im not going to tell somebody about this.
Since just cause 2 has no screenshot feature, i couldn't take any pictures or i would have. But please, believe me. This isnt a creepypasta (Although i am seriously considering writing one for this), i promise.
So yeah, that was really creepy.

I did, actually. But when i tried to paste it into paint so i could save it, it just gave me the title screen for some reason.
Happened to me a long time ago. They never came back. To this day I have 0 citizen npcs in my game.

Just cause 2 cant be printscreend. Use steams screenshot thing or fraps
It's a known glitch, Search the official forums for a fix if it happens again.
Haha this has happened to me over a dozen times. Usually after a while they respawn or just restart the game.
That was one of the scariest ghost stories I have ever read.

That is a know bug, no npcs in the island, you just need to start a "race" and cancel it.
That sounds really creepy, would've been worse if there was no way to fix it, and all your save spots were taken up with the profile 'BEN'.
just cause 2 thread?
i installed the superman (which is actually real fucking disappointing) and a joker skin. so now the joker is going around the island flying around raining death and despair upon all while, i assume, laughing maniacally.
