so I just came into a very old computer it has a 550 MHz CPU and 250MB SD ram, now i don't always have internet access to the internet on this thing. So I would like to know of some old free downloadable games that will keep me entertained for hours on end until I get the parts for my new rig in. I am running on windows XP
TES: II Daggerfall Just make sure you dont halt when the guards say so
Cave Story and Spelunky.
oh and can i run mine craft on this thing? I doubt I can but I would like to know.
Crysis 2. But seriously, Minecraft should run alright. And Half-Life and CS: Condition Zero.
GTA 1 and GTA 2
I think you can get them for free now too off the R* website, well one of them at least
I'm going through the Doom series right now and I'm having a lot of fun.

A bunch of roguelikes, Gang Garrison, Terraria (maybe?).

Dungeon Keeper, Syndicate, Syndicate Wars, Blood, Worms, Worms 2, Worms Armageddon, Command and Conquer, Age of Empires and Sim City 2000 and 3000. [editline]19th August 2011[/editline] To my knowledge they are either freeware or abandonware.
Fallout and Fallout 2. Great RPG's.
Deus ex maybe
Dungeon Keeper One and Two
Someone should make a megathread for this. "Cheap/Free Old games that you can play offline V1: If your offline how are you reading this?"
5 Days a Stranger, 7 Days a Skeptic, Trilby's Notes, 5 Days a Sacrifice and a bunch of free roguelikes. "Cheap/Free Old games that you can play offline V1: If your offline how are you reading this?"
There was a thread like that but it got buried somewhere. edit: http://www.facepunch.com/threads/907651-Free-games-that-don-t-suck-V3-The-revival meh, close enough to what I remembered it being.

You might as well run on Win 98, you won't play anything that is remotely recent other than little indie games anyway.
