Well I was attempting to create one of the boat docks seen in this video

when I ran into this problem([url]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yy1wQ3KQw1M[/url]) . I made one already that worked perfectly, and this one is identical, or so it seems to me, and on this one random pistons don't get extended upwards. Its a different piston that gets stuck down every time.
I could use a redstone expert to point out what I did wrong here.
P.S. Sorry for the lag in the video. I'm trying to run Minecraft and Fraps on a 2.19GHz Celeron.

Seems you aren't putting any power to those pistons that aren't going up/down. Put a redstone wire underneath them (I'm not an expert, so this might not work)
no that's not it. its like its a lag problem or something. Or the blocks aren't updating or something. Because when I break the piston and replace it with the power on, it shoots up.

Yeah it definitely has something to do with the block not updating. Because as soon as you edit a block nearby, the piston will shoot up. Any ideas on how to fix that?
It isnt anything to do with the way its facing is it? Some piston related redstone contraptions break if they face a certain direction like some piston clocks for example.

Possibly. The video doesn't say anything about it having to face a certain direction, but I will try rotating it to the same direction as the other one
Yup, it was the orientation. This seems somewhat strange, but the launcher only works when facing east. I modified the design a bit and made one that is only 2 blocks wide but it works in any direction.
