I fucking loved the Instincts series and Ordered FCIP for the 360 on Amazon. I was just curious if people still played online.
I wouldn't be surprised if there were still people, because its fun as hell!
(I just hope another "Map censorship" doesn't happen again. In case you don't know what that entails, its where all of the maps created by users become corrupt and cannot be played, because some whiney parent said that he/she saw a dick/boob in a custom level and didn't want their children to see it.)

Is it as terrible as Far Cry 2?
It is awesome. One of the best FPS's on the Xbox.
The last time i played was 2 years ago.Back then there was only around 20 people playing multiplayer but it awesome because all the maps were unique and creative. People can do amazing things with limited resources.
I had tonnes of fun on Far Cry Instincts Predator before it was eventually replaced by Far Cry 2. The numbers of people in multiplayer is unstable but you can still find a few games.
I was so into the FC:IP community a few years ago. If there was a game to go back in time for, it would be this game for me. The community was not huge, but there was a good amount, in each game a few people might know each other from previous matches.
Some people were great map makers, such as Map Maker and Mr Fovan. Map Maker made this huge elaborate maps, most of them took up the limit of the map. He has made trials maps, where you get to the end jumping across things and what not, and made a huge slide that brought you into a toilet bowl shaped area, which people would slide around for a good while. Mr Fovan made some awesome gameplay maps for predator and sometimes we would play a game of 'zombies' we used the honor system, and it would be free for all, and one person would be a zombie that could not run, and only knife, when u got killed, you became a zombie. Good times.
I remember when Far Cry 2 was announced, everyone was getting so excited, we saw this as FC:IP with Graphics improvements and more stuf and features in the map editor. We heard there would be no mutants, that dissapointed us, but we still thought it would be okay. It came out, it did not meet our expectations, some people played it for a while, giving it a chance, but a lot of people I know, including me did not like it. This is what killed most of the FC:IP community, most people either played Far Cry 2, or did not return to FC:IP.
I heard now that the community is small, and last time I checked, there was about 30 people in the community who played online, at max.
I only ever played the original FC, and it seemed I was the only one who even actually knew about it.

I freakin' loved Fovan's maps
I remember i used to play it all the time back in the day.
Custom maps were cool as fuck.
