Few 360 questions before I pick up a 250GB Slim...

I've soft-modded my PS3, Wii, and original Xbox as media centers, and my PSP to play emulators. So I'm not new to modding consoles, but I've never owned a 360. I plan on buying one NEW, but would like some advice first:
1.) I plan on buying a 360 Slim for single player games. I don't need Xbox Live. So what modified firmware would best suit my needs?
2.) What is it about the 360's hardware that allows microsoft to snoop through your systems, looking for tampering?
3.) Are the large 360's any better or worse for modding that the new slim models, or does it matter?
4.) And finally, why isn't there any hard or soft mods that Microsoft can't detect and patch yet? (Like a perma-patch to keep Live and your modded console looking legit)

Pay for your games. Problem solved.

I pay for games. I want to run copies of games I own so my originals don't get rings scratched into them, as the 360 is notorious for that. Even running games from the harddrive would be fine.

Unless you are being stupid and flipping the Xbox when a disk is in it, you won't scratch your disks, so you don't need to mod it to play legit, therefore you are a pirate.

No it's not. Not for years. Unless you move it while it is turned on. Like take it from upright to lying down. You want to pirate games.

Since the release of the xbox, I have had no discs damaged; neither have any of my friends. As long as you aren't stupid enough to stand your xbox up sideways and/or don't lay it on a carpet, you won't have any problems.

The xbox is notrious for ringing you're games when you are a 12 year old child of fiddle with their xbox's when they are playing their games. And the slims don't ring your disc anyway.

The average age of Xbox players is 17-35, as of June 2011. Although maturity level is a far different story.

I'm not a big 360 guy and I joke about it eating discs all the time, but even I can tell that excuse is bullshit.
Like the people who use Wii backup loaders and claim they're only running "backups" of games they already own.

I had to buy a gamecube import loader. I bought Viewtiful Joe 2 and Killer 7 from Ebay, but it turned out they were American import, and wouldn't play on my GC. So I bought a loader. But it didn't load backups (said so on the case), only imports. Which is cool.

Slim did ring my disc, but it was kinda cause I knocked the xbox over while it was r unning with the game inside so I guess I had it coming lol

Okay, I have the answers for you. Microsoft is able to tell if you have a legit game in by this little sensor inside of the disk drive. Therefore, to muck up the sensor, you need to put something in there that will confuse it, such as a cookie or a slice of pizza (sandwiches work too, but only with extra mayo and no veggies, I cannot stress that enough). Leave the cookie or slice of pizza in the Xbox for a week or two to completely neutralize the sensor. Then, to remove Microsoft's ability to snoop in your Xbox's system, throw your Xbox off of a 2-3 story building onto some pavement. This will knock the component loose, and allow you to do whatever you want to the system without Microsoft finding out.
Once you've completed these steps, enjoy your modded Xbox 360!

This is also an easy fix. If you want to prevent your 360 disks from being scratched, smear the underside of them with peanut butter and then use a hair drier or heat lamp until the peanut butter forms a tough shell. Peanut Butter is one of the hardest substances known to man once hardened. They use it to mine diamonds. Once your disk has this protective shell on the underside of it, you can play it in peace and not worry about your disks being scratched.
