PC gamer has published their first issue/episode of their digital counterpart magazine right onto Steam. You can read it if:
- You're in the US. Goes worldwide in 2 weeks)
- Pay 2 dollars per week for each new issue.
So. Anyone tried it out yet? Presumebly, there's an article about RO2 that I want to read, but it's region locked and (I think) costs money to read.
Honestly I think it would be a bit better for my eyes reading the magazine than spending hours looking at my screen.
$2 per issue?
$2 per issue?
Yep. I thought the first one might've been free, to entice readers. But using a Proxy shows that it's still 2 dollars for it as well.

Would it be piracy if someone copied the articles and posted them here? :v:
Modern day Robin Hood anyone?
I dunno. Are magazine scans considered illegal?
They are interactive magazines, so you won't be able to post them like a .pdf.
Prt screen.
As I said, they are interactive. Sure, you can post a bazillion pictures, but that doesn't stop the fact that you can click and interact with the magazine in many ways.
The beta's interactive TF2 Map with hints/tips scattered around was pretty cool, I might subscribe.
Oh, and the Crysis 2 multi-path competition thing was pretty awesome as well.

I wonder if a sub to the magazine nets you a monthly digital too.
if it had the tf2 promo it would sell alot
This is so true, its sad.

Apparently reading off a monitor is about the same as on paper. IMO it really is about the lighting and all that.
definitely cheaper than the print version.
It's already out on the scene as a download, go figure, but I prefer to read my articles in print.

B-b-but... it's totally different...
Yeah it's not really comparable, this is interactive, has videos, etc. etc., if you ask me this is how gaming magazines should be distributed (as opposed to stuff like Spirou which I would never pay to read on a screen) so I'll subscribe/buy issues when it's available worldwide.
Really not fair that this isn't available in Canada, PCGamer Canada is pretty poor if I recall.
Defeats whole purpose of magazines for me.
