• Doom: Hell Reinvented mod

You are a marine, assigned to the UAC Complex. Recently, they conducted an experiment which resulted in teleporting into an unknown location. You have been assigned to follow the science team into the portal, and collect any data possible. It seems to be safe enough to pass through... This mod is meant to be another retelling of Doom for the IdTech4 engine. None of the original storyline from any Doom is present, but almost all enemies will return in some form, with some new ones. No copyright infringement is intended. If mod is violating copyrights, I will remove the mod. Currently I am the only one working on this mod, but I will need a team to create this. I have school so I wont be able to work during day hours so 5-8pm on weekdays and 12am-7pm on weekends and any time im off. Wait, you're recreating Doom in Source? If so, that's a great idea and I support it. And as long as it's a mod it's perfectly fine to release it without worry of copyright infringement as long as you don't actually take content from the original game's files. Please correct me if I am in any way misunderstanding you. If it isn't in Source it doesn't belong in this section.
If this is for the IdTech4 Engine what's it doing in 'Valve Games and Mods?' If I did read that properly. [editline]11th September 2011[/editline] Oh, sorry if I missed it- but what's your part in this? Are you modelling, scripting, etc.?
Currenly its being built on the source engine, and I hope to be able to convert everything to the ID Tech engine when its released. And Im leader/music creator/story-writer
I'm not sure if it's possible to convert from Source to ID Tech. Of course I'm not a Techhy so I can't be sure. [editline]11th September 2011[/editline] Also, if anything, it's a bit unwise to start modding on one engine then to finish in another. You should choose one engine to stick with, cause I don't think its possible to go from Source to ID Tech.
ah, well I guess the main reason I did it is because I saw mods and didnt think beyond that. Still IDK which one im gonna be able to do. It all depends on if the ID TEch sdk is even that user friendly
I'd recommend sticking with Source, it's not the best engine out there but it's already got a sizable modding community and tools. So... what have you got? I mean, surely, you must have mockups or music WIPs or SOMETHING to show.
I love the concept, being an id fan but I fear it might suffer from ideas guy syndrome. Can you please show us some things you've already made for this mod? Even concept art of weapon or monster redesigns and stuff is fine.
