Released in Early 2000, this was the 5th game in the Need For Speed series, taking an unusual turn in focusing solely on Porsche's backlog of cars, starting with the humble Porsche 356 and moving right up to 2000. along with an in-depth catalog of cars, there is also a massive catalog of car parts to choose from.
There are 4 'modes' to choose from, The Standard 'Quick Race' mode, in which you grab a car and go. Multiplayer which offers various ways of connecting PCs(modem, serial, IP, Internet[Unfortunately Internet servers were shut down in 2003]). After that there is the Factory Driver mode in which the play is set a series of challenges 'test driving' cars for Porsche. and finally the Evolution mode, which is comprised of a series of tournaments, and requires the player to buy and manage their cars from race to race, including buying new cars, parts, and and money, as well as aspects such as car damage being retained.

How many Facepunchers have this game? maybe try and arranging a few group races via hamatchi? or something?
i fucking loved this game
but damn, it was so fucking hard to get into
I played this game before, some of the driving challenges were very fun..
I still have my case for this, I used to love this game.
Still the best Need for Speed.
have any of you ever become emotionally attached to the cars you buy through evolution? or am I just strange?
Especially with my 356 B
I played the fuck out of this game. Seriously, I must have played this game more than any other game I've ever played.
I also played the Playstation version and it was like an entirely different game. It sucked.
This was the only game my grandparents owned, so I played it all the time when I was at their house.
(My grandfather bought it because he restored 356s as a hobby)
Need for Speed 2000 is sexy. Loved the game, too bad my disc is scratched.
