• Paying for games - how do we feel about that!?

Hellllooooooo! I had a rather interesting discussion with a friend yesterday evening about feelings regarding game payment... Do you purchase all your games? Do you online play free online games, do you play free online games and then purchase "extras", do you go the subscription route and pay a monthly fee to play or does it just depend on how you feel at the moment and what it is you want to play?! I have an xbox360 and pay for my gold membership but that is about it... I buy the games i want and regarding PC - I havent really gotten into that again for a while... I was a pre-steam PC gamer but now i like my console...
I buy what I want to play. preferrably retail but steam prices are hard to find in retail so I have a lot of games on steam as well.
You should probably move this to the debate section
I basically buy all games on steam now, but i never pay for "extras" in game. Only once did i buy some skins when i was still playing Lol, but only cause i won some credit in promo of paysafecard. i am not against it, i know the developers need some cash to continue improving on the game, however, some of them "free" games are really build up like a scam. In that sense console gaming is more "value for your money", altough there are some games where you run through in 5-6 hours and that sense also not worth the money.
i'm old enough to afford games so what's the point in pirating them plus it's easier to downlad through steam/origin/wherever than it is waiting for torrents usually
I buy games that are worth their money, but for example I'm not playing 100euro for battlefield 3.5
i buy games and never play them
i buy games and never play them
I blame humble bundle for bundling up one good game with 5 bad and then i have 5 games im never going to play and one that i play for a day.
@Stront - WHAT €100 for battlefield?!! are they crazy? @raalph and why is that? lol sounds rather interesting... maybe you just like looking at the box! I definitely agree with the majority - steam seems to be the best option for me and it also has the most diverse payment methods...
I definitely buy games if they're not ridiculously overpriced. If they're ridiculously overpriced, I either just don't bother with them, pirate it, play it for a day and see if its worth buying it, and then delete it.
@raalph and why is that? lol sounds rather interesting... maybe you just like looking at the box!
i just don't have any desire to play, i guess i'm too old for this shit i have over 70 games on steam and only 3 with more than 10 hours played
I buy games because people need to be paid etc. And considering I kind of want a job in the game industry some day, I'd consider it bad to pirate.
i just don't have any desire to play, i guess i'm too old for this shit i have over 70 games on steam and only 3 with more than 10 hours played
Clearly.
Clearly.
Well, to be honest, im about the same age too and i have had less and less desire to play games. I barely play at all anymore. But im gonna buy HD Rift when it comes out, that will probably get me excited about games again.
My issue is that there isn't enough fun games to play. there is a game here and there that is good and worth the money but then there is like 50 more games that just tries to be like those games and leech some of the success. [editline]26th November 2013[/editline] where did the originality go?

I know plenty of people who are much older than that that play video games regularly. I'm 22 and I still play, my best friend's 5 months older than me and plays regularly, another good friend is 44 or so, my uncle's 53, etc.. Age doesn't have anything to do with playing video games.
