• MW3 Map Packs are $20 Each

Okay, so I got my new game informer yesterday and I was reading a section on MW3. They said they are going to release 2-3 Map Packs for it, it also says it on the Call of Duty Elite website. In the FAQ on the CoD Elite website under "How much does it cost" it says you get $60 in MW3 map packs. So simply dividing 60 by 3, you get $20 each. If you but Call of Duty Elite, you get all the Map Packs for $50, but thats still $16.66 dollars each. Why are they charging so god damn much for such a shitty game! Nobody cares about COD anymore anyway, and you missed the megathread.

Pretty sure Game Informer needs to check their sources. [editline]25th September 2011[/editline] Also you doing some simple math off of a rumor in a game magazine doesn't really count as official news [editline]25th September 2011[/editline] Also this really should have gone in the megathread. [editline]25th September 2011[/editline] If you think Call of Duty is such a shitty game why are you reading magazines about it and posting threads about it, and visiting their websites? Like seriously, nothing about this thread makes any sense.
Why are they charging so god damn much for such a shitty game!
Why do you care so much if it's such a shitty game!
Why do you care so much if it's such a shitty game!
I kind of care because whenever Call of Duty does something successfully, others tend to follow suit.
Why do you care so much if it's such a shitty game!
:eng101: They do it because the arrogant child-with-parents-credit-card CoD crowd will dive into it regardless.
I find it funny how if a person were to buy only call of duty titles. Thats an outrageous amount of money. 60 dollars for xbox live + 50 dollars for Elite + 60 dollars for the game. Not counting shit like avatar gear or themes. 170 dollars just to play a single game. [editline]26th September 2011[/editline] That's also not counting the edition they got and if they have any call of duty related merchandise.
So their test for seeing if people would buy at 15 was successful now they bump it to 20? Fuck off Activision. They put more work on their prices than their maps. I miss the days where a company would be in progress of a map THEN decide the price range with the amount of work it took them to make them. Halo 2 had the best prices for maps on a console imo. Halo 2's first map pack was free, sponsored by Mt Dew. The next one was 5$ for 2 incredible maps, Sanctuary and Turf. Then the very next one was only 11$ dollars for 5 damn maps while CoD asks for 15$ for just 2 new maps and a shitty remake totaling only 3 maps.
That just sucks, and even worse, my dumbass brother always spends my MS points on them.
Did nobody read my post? Did nobody read his post? The OP is going off of some misinformation in a magazine and then is doing simple math to come to the conclusion that DLC will be twenty bucks a pop. Read people, read. [editline]26th September 2011[/editline] They're releasing 2-3 pieces a month.

I'm not saying you should like Call of Duty, just don't make the other side sound worse than it actually is. Also, the best thing you can do is just not buy the map packs, because you're voting with your dollar. [editline]26th September 2011[/editline]
Did nobody read my post? 2-3 pieces a month = 24-36 pieces over the course of a year. Having 24 or 36 pieces of DLC equal sixty dollars mean they'll be pretty fucking cheap actually.
They didn't say maps a month. Those could be skins and pictures.
June 3 on Xbox Live, the pack will be priced at 1200 ($15) -- the same as its predecessor, the Stimulus Pack. Resurgence will feature maps old and new, including two Call of Duty 4 maps and three new locations: Vacant -- the wide open Russian office complex from CoD4 Strike -- the urban town surrounded by hotels from CoD4 Carnival -- an abandoned carnival area with a Ferris wheel, fun house and other attractions Trailer Park -- full of "super tight corridors" and featuring a pool ("Mobile Estates," Bowling calls it) Fuel -- a "sniper haven" based in and around an oil refinery

They didn't say maps a month. Those could be skins and pictures.
This is true, but my point still stands. 2-3 pieces of DLC a month, for a year, all equaling up to 60 dollars. That means that map packs probably won't be $20 dollars. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if they were less than $15.
Modern Warfare 2.
There were maps before the ones you listed though. It was some apartment area, overgrown, and another I can't remember.
There were maps before the ones you listed though. It was some apartment area, overgrown, and another I can't remember.
There were five maps in that one. Considering you can't even remember the three, I'd say your memory is probably a little fuzzy on what exactly you paid for.
