• help setting up a minecraft server

hey all I have recently set up a minecraft server for a few friends but, I am really struggling to install mods. I would like planes, trains and zepplain (if the SMP has been released yet) mod installed but I am sure how to do so. Any help would be appreciated and if anyone could provide a link for the server tools with the mods installed it would be even better. thanks
Just wait a bit. 1.8 may not support all of that jazz just yet. Or you can wait like me, for tutorials on how too. Have a good day.
Or he could use 1.7.3. with Bukkit and just ram the plugins in the plugin folder. And generally most plugins work across versions if you are lucky.
minecraft + planes + smp Oh the wonders of Google: http://www.google.com/#sclient=psy-ab&hl=en&source=hp&q=minecraft+planes+smp&pbx=1&oq=minecraft+planes+smp&aq=f&aqi=g3g-b1&aql=&gs_sm=e&gs_upl=971l7274l0l7519l20l17l0l0l0l0l300l2957l2.11.3.1l17l0&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_cp.&fp=b6a8b4b1695e3a5b&biw=1280&bih=909 First link buddy As for the other mods, it's as simple as dragging the .jar into the plugins folder that is generated when you run the server. The server you download off minecraft.net does not support plugins, if you can handle it you'll want to Google Bukkit. If you can't, here is a handy dandy link: http://www.google.com/#hl=en&sugexp=gsis%2Ci18n%3Dtrue&cp=4&gs_id=3u&xhr=t&q=bukkit&qe=YnVraw&qesig=xy56uYv6VNxFWpKbZEwaRw&pkc=AFgZ2tkXVxng0hbecZs70Goc3I4cuTvirezPWODUkDES3IP5mca996BGKXHHGq2yamfid56EEH4b8J-iDVaa-0fya0NujtF6kw&pq=minecraft+planes+smp&pf=p&sclient=psy-ab&source=hp&pbx=1&oq=bukk&aq=0p&aqi=p-p2g2&aql=&gs_sm=&gs_upl=&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_cp.&fp=b6a8b4b1695e3a5b&biw=1280&bih=909 Read the wiki and all the documentation, it's fairly straightforward. If you have trouble send me a PM
Do you even have enough RAM? Cause you'll need a lot of it if you're going to run a server.
